Köppen climate type:
The main strata cropping out in the Zhunuo-Beimulang district include the Eocene Pana Formation composed of tuff and rhyolite, and the Eocene Nianbo Formation consisted of sedimentary tuff. The NNW-striking fault extends ∼ 2 km, which cut off the monzogranite, indicating that the fault was formed after the monzogranite.
Miocene porphyry Cu deposit in the western Gangdese metallogenic belt (1.29 Mt at 0.38 % Cu). The Cu mineralized zone, defined by the 0.2 wt% Cu cutoff grade shell, forms an elliptical body (∼1.6 × 1.9 km) that dips eastward. Three major lithological units are exposed at Beimulang. The Eocene Pana Formation volcanic rocks occupy ∼ 30 % of the surface exposure, whereas Eocene intrusive rocks are mainly exposed as dikes. The remaining ∼ 60 % of the surface exposure is composed of the Miocene intrusive complex, which consists of multiple syn- to late-mineralization intrusions. The syn-mineralization intrusions include monzogranite porphyry, monzogranite, and diorite porphyry, whereas the late-mineralization intrusions comprise lamprophyre and granite porphyry. Based on their textures, clast–cement relationships, cement mineral assemblages, and alteration characteristics, three major breccia types are recognized: (1) tourmaline-cemented breccia, (2) clast-supported breccia, and (3) quartz-pyrite-cemented breccia.
