The Groeve Kreco (French: Carrière Kreco), formerly also the Groeve Ciments Portland Liegéois or Groeve CPL, is a quarry near Hallembaye in the Belgian province of Liège in the municipality of Oupeye and a short distance on the area of the municipality of Visé. The quarry is located northwest of Hallembaye and southwest of Loën. The quarry is opencast in the Hesbaye Plateau in the western slope of the valley of the Meuse and lies against the municipal border with Bitsingen. On the northwest side, the quarry is bordered by the Groeve CBR Lixhe, on the northeast side by the railway tunnel of Spoorlijn 24, on the east side by the Meuse valley and on the south side by the Thier des Bruyères, Hauts de Froidmont and an old closed quarry. In the eastern part of the quarry is the C.E.T. de Hallembaye.
With the reclamation of the quarry, the mountain slope Thier de Hallembaye was excavated.
On August 2, 1899, S.A. des Ciments Portland Liégeois (CPL) permits limestone mining and limestone was first mined here in an opencast quarry. In 1955 permission was granted to crush limestone. The quarry was further expanded in different periods.
In 1987 the quarry was taken over by S.A. Ciments d'Obourg.
In 1989, a landfill site, the C.E.T. de Hallembaye, was started on the site of the old CPL quarry (the eastern part).
