The Ludousou Au deposit is located in the northwestern part of the WQO, adjacent to the contact zone between the Dewulu quartz diorite and the Laodou quartz diorite. It hosts a gold resource exceeding 20 tonnes, with average grades ranging from 3.8 to 5.5 g/t. The exposed Ludousou quartz diorite covers an area of approximately four square kilometers and is composed primarily of plagioclase, quartz, and amphibole phenocrysts, with minor biotite. The mineralised fault systems include: (i) a thrust fault developed within the Permian Daguanshan Formation; (ii) north-trending faults within granitic rocks, subparallel to the granite–country rock contact; and (iii) secondary east-trending faults.
The Ludousou deposit is hosted within the Upper Permian slate, which is locally unconformably overlain by Upper Triassic volcanic rocks. The lower section of the Shiguan Formation consists of biotite-muscovite quartz hornfels and andalusite quartz hornfels, while the middle to upper sections are dominated by slate interbedded with thin layers of meta-sandstone and meta-conglomerate. The Huari Formation comprises continental volcanic rocks, featuring andesitic and dacitic breccias in its lower part, and dacitic breccia lava, dacite, and andesite in the upper part, semicircularly surrounding the quartz diorite porphyry to the east and south. Intrusive rocks are primarily composed of quartz diorite and quartz diorite porphyry. Quartz diorite is exposed in the western, central, and southern parts of the mining area, whereas quartz diorite porphyry occurs as a small stock covering approximately 3.83 km2. Gold orebodies in the Ludousou deposit can be classified into three types: disseminated pyritic tourmaline quartz diorite porphyry type, quartz-tourmaline-sulfide vein type, and quartz-stibnite type Au-Sb orebodies. The mineralized zone extends 2.5 km in length and 0.6 km in width, with 30 Au orebodies delineated, including four main orebodies. Two orebodies are controlled by NW-trending structures and occur as veins), with average thicknesses of 1.37 m and 1.48 m, and average grades of 4.90 g/t and 4.77 g/t, respectively. One orebody is controlled by NE-trending structures with an average thickness of 1.06 m and an average grade of 3.14 g/t. The orebody is a tourmaline-type orebody occurring as a pod, with an average thickness of 30.6 m and an average grade of 2.90 g/t.
