At Zone 5, metallic mineralization occurs in multi-stage quartz-calcite veins, along bedding, foliation and metamorphic cleavage. The main host lithologies for these ores are siltstone, limestone, and marlstone of the lower D’Kar Formation. High-grade mineralization is primarily hosted in variably deformed quartz-calcite veins. Mineralization at Zone 5 has been classified broadly into the diagenetic and later hydrothermal stages, the latter is the phase during which the Zone 5 ore body was deposited.

The Zone 5 Cu-Ag deposit in northwest Botswana extends for 4.2 km in length and contains a resource of 100 Mt grading 2% Cu and 21g/t Ag. Zone 5 is the main deposit in the Khoemacau district of the Kalahari Copperbelt.
