The ore is hosted by quartz-feldspar-mica (felsic) schists of the Toggekry Formation and occurs as stringers, pods, and lenses of massive sulfide typically concentrated in fold closure zones of a steeply plunging, larger-scale structure. The folded felsic schist unit envelops a sizeable, more competent serpentinite body and is characterized by a gossan at the surface. The Paleoarchean schists and serpentinites are intruded by Mesoarchean granite dikes and also by dolerite dikes of Proterozoic and Mesozoic ages (e.g., Karoo dikes). The discontinuous sulfide ore stringers within the felsic schists are up to 5 m thick and appear to be bedded, as well as mineralogically zoned (e.g., Zn-rich tops and Cu-rich bottoms). They are concordantly aligned with the main foliation plane of the isoclinally folded felsic schists. Although the Zn and Cu (and Ag) grades are elevated in several drill core intersections, the various drilling campaigns delineated only subeconomic tonnages of base metal sulfide ore.
