A mining venture started a bit before my visit in 2019.
The operators were hoping to make a tunnel all the way to the Coscuez area, tho their tunnel was over 100m in depth when I visited, and the had found some interesting things, their hopes for emerald deposits had yet not been realized.
Known mineral species found there include Quartz, Calcite, Siderite, Dolomite and Sphalerite
(many of the locals think the sphalerite is "red beryl" making them ask insane prices for specimens that have it, but this is due to some misunderstanding after purportedly a US collector bought some under that pretense... the XLs are all brownish, and fit sphalerite perfectly and bear no resemblance to beryl... wishful thinking in my opinion)
