Köppen climate type:
Historic mine location. Contained an open cut, Conrans shaft sunk to a depth of 50 feet, Little Wonder shaft down to 65 feet, Ladder Way or Western shaft down to 120 feet. Active 1880-1904 producing 653 oz Au.
Hosted by hard granite considerably jointed. The quartz reef carries much pyrite, and minor chalcopyrite and gypsum crystals between the quartz and pyrite. High grade gold is found associated with fine grained pyrite. Crystal and cellular quartz in cavities in pyrite. Arsenopyrite disseminated in pyrophyllite-quartz rock, and banded with pyrite. Pyrite crystals in pyrophyllite. Glassy dogtooth quartz crystals in sphalerite, and in sheet form. Sphalerite infilling within quartz veinlets and pyrite.
