The Banlun magnetite ore cluster is situated in southeastern Funing County and is structurally confined between the Napo–Funing and Dongbao–Nasangwei regional fault zones. Both skarn-type magnetite deposits and magmatic Cu–Ni sulfide deposits are well developed in this area and are distributed around two relatively large Middle Triassic intrusive complexes, namely the Anding and Dongha intrusions. The Anding intrusion, located in the southeastern part of the ore cluster, has a relatively large outcrop area, and its inner contact zone and surrounding area host a series of skarn-type magnetite deposits and occurrences, including Yapai, Kunhong, Anding, Nana, and Maojianshan. The Dongha intrusion, in the northwestern part of the ore cluster, hosts deposits and occurrences such as Dongha, Weishang, and Yapaishan within its contact zone. The spatial association among intrusions, structures, and orebodies suggests that Middle Triassic tectono-magmatic activity exerted an important control on magnetite mineralization in the Banlun area.
