Köppen climate type:
The green “Shetaicui” quartzite body occurs within the second member of the Shujigou Formation as a thick-bedded unit, dipping 70° toward 340°, and is composed of white massive quartzite with pale green bands. The hanging-wall rocks consist mainly of medium- to thick-bedded metamorphosed feldspathic quartz sandstone interbedded with quartzite, whereas the footwall rocks consist of sericite quartz schist interbedded with metamorphosed feldspathic quartz sandstone. The quartzite body has sharp, conformable contacts with the adjacent strata. Magmatic activity in the mining area is limited to quartz diorite porphyrite, and schistosity and gneissosity are developed near its contact with meta-quartz sandstone.
