The Sanchagou quartz syenitic pegmatites and monzogranites are hosted in the two-mica schist and marble of the Longshoushan Group. The pegmatites, spatially intruded around the Paleoproterozoic monzogranite pluton, are commonly brick-red, with a coarse-grained texture and massive structure. All of the pegmatites and K-feldspar granites are unzoned. 10 pegmatite dikes, featured by significant Th and LREE mineralization, have been identified in the Chixiashan region, with the cut-off grades of 0.5% rare earth oxides and 0.1% ThO2. They are hosted within the Paleoproterozoic Longshoushan Group with a sharp contact, and most of them are distributed around the Proterozoic Sanchagou granite pluton.
