The Malo Grim area is regarded as the northern extension of the Sol Hamed ophiolite (808 ± 14 Ma), which consists of metaultramafic rocks, metagabbro and pillowed basalts. The ophiolitic ultramafic rocks in Malo Grim area include serpentinites and metapyroxenites. Serpentinites are elongated in NE-SW trend forming ridges of about 20 km long and 0.5–1.8 km wide. The Malo Grim serpentinites experienced extreme alteration, particularly along thrusts, forming talc-carbonate rocks and listvenites. The listvenites appear as dike-like bodies (5–10 m thick and 10–20 m long) with porous texture.
