An active gold mine, which is producing gold from a number of small open-pit operations. Gold reserves are approximately 400,000 ozs.
Located about 60 km northwest of Tianlin.
The ore-bearing strata are the Middle Triassic Baifeng Formation, which consists of siltstone, mudstone, and carbonaceous and calcareous siltstone and shale.
Orogenic Reserves: 21.6 t Au @3.7 g/t

The Gaolong gold deposit, with ~30 t (non-JORC) gold reserves at 1.79–4.04 g/t, is sited in the central-western part of the Youjiang basin. The Carboniferous to Permian massive or bioclastic limestones form the Gaolong dome, which is flanked by Triassic clastic rocks. No igneous rocks have been detected either at surface or at depth in this deposit. A total of nine NW-striking orebodies have been defined and, of these, No. 6 and No. 10 orebodies contain about 96% of the total reserves. These moderately-inclined lenticular and vein-like orebodies commonly pinch, swell, or branch and are mostly controlled by a silicified thrust zone along the margin of the Gaolong dome, but are also distributed within the clastic rocks of the Baifeng Formation.

The Gaolong gold deposit comprises 30 orebodies in the silicified thrust zone at the contact between the limestone of the carbonate platform and turbidites. The NW-trending orebody No. 6 and NE-trending orebody No. 10 on the eastern edge of the platform contain a total of ~18.7 t of gold reserves, with an average gold grade of 1.81 to 3.29 g/t. The NW-trending orebodies No. 51 to No. 63 located on the western edge of the platform host ~8.6 t of gold reserves, with an average gold grade of 1.62 to 2.17 g/t. In addition, minor orebodies occur along high-angle reverse F6 fault within Triassic turbidites located several hundred meters north of the platform. Two types of orebodies were identified in the Gaolong gold deposit. The first type (type A) is located in the silicified thrust zone in the vicinity of the contact between limestone and turbidites. The second type (type B) is situated several hundred meters north of the platform controlled by the F6 fault, hosted by tectonic breccia of the Triassic turbidites.
