Gearhart Claim

A copper mine on Palmer Mountain that joins the Copper World Extension property on the West. It worked a breccia enclosing vein in schist and slate. Development includes a 135' incline shaft and 2 shallow shafts. A sheet of native copper and bornite was reported as being found at a depth of 50' but this report was never confirmed. It would be possible for this to occur in the oxide cap of the mine but the lack of replication of this report unique to the region makes it seem doubtful.

Note: This is a separate mine from the Copper World Extension.
