A famous mine known to be the source of pyrosmalite-(Fe) crystals was named in honor of Count Nils Bjelke (1724-1792), who visited Nordmark in 1795. Originally it was part of the Grundsjö mine which by 1805 had a depth of 65 m. By 1816 these two mines were regarded as a single mine (Magnusson, 1934). Today Bjelke's Mine is just a large stope located between the 135-meter and 160-meter levels in the enlarged Grundsjö Mine.

Not to be confused with the Bjelke Mines, Åreskutan.
