There is very little know about this mine, other than it was quite rich in the early-mid 19th centry.
The vein is recorded as being up to 5.5mts wide, and was developed by a crosscut adit and a shaft sunk to a 20 fathom level.
The only recorded output is 4 tons of lead ore for the years 1888-90.
The valley floor has several spoil heaps that have evidently been excavated for aggregate but still contain galena, sphalerite, dolomite and quartz in relative abundance. Some relics are also evident amongst the grass including a dam across the stream.
A spoil heap sits prominently on the hillside, presumably the site of the shaft collar though it was not visited at this time. What appears to be the entrance to a level on a line with the spoil is visible in the valley floor.
West of the site are the remnants of 4 terraced cottages and amongst the furze a wheelpit with brick arch for the tailrace.
To the east of the site on the southern hillside is a prominent spoil heap though apparently barren of metal minerals. This could be related to either Elgar or Mynydd Gorddu Mine. Jan, 2020
