This page is currently not sponsored. Click here to sponsor this page.
Formula:
RhSbS
Crystal System:
Isometric
Member of:
Name:
for Andries Frederik Lombaard, (August 28, 1877 Burgersfort, Southern, LP, South Africa - October 06, 1954 Burgersfort, Lydenburg, Transvaal, South Africa) who "was instrumental in the discovery of the Merensky reef". He was prospecting for gold on his farm Maandagshoek No. 148, found a few specks of a heavy white metal, which he at once suspected might be platinum.
Unique combination of elements. The Rh analogue of tolovkite, ullmannite, and willyamite. The Sb analogue of hollingworthite.

Associated with laurite at Onverwacht, and Pt-Fe alloys and either erlichmanite or bornite+chalcopyrite at Yubdo.
