Sharjah-Sat 2 [SSAH]
Sharjah-Sat-2 is a 6U Cubesat developed by the Sharjah Space and Astronomy Hub (SSAH), with Innovative Solutions in Space (ISISPACE) as the satellite integrator. The Earth observation satellite carries a HyperScape100 hyperspectral imager from Simera Sense to acquire high-resolution hyperspectral imagery for strategic planning and research in the Emirate of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.
The mission is a collaboration between SSAH, the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority, Sharjah City Municipality, and the Department of Town Planning and Survey. The collected imagery is intended to support urban development, infrastructure management, and other planning activities, while establishing a database of high-resolution hyperspectral data for research and development.
Sharjah-Sat-2 has a planned mission lifetime of three years. The 6U spacecraft uses body-mounted solar panels, a battery, power conditioning and distribution units, and an attitude determination and control system comprising magnetometers, Sun sensors, a star tracker, and GNSS. Reaction wheels and magnetorquers provide attitude control.
Telemetry, tracking and command (TT&C) communications use S-band, while an X-band link provides high-speed transmission of payload data. The command and data handling system controls spacecraft operations and processes the acquired imagery. The primary payload is the HyperScape100 hyperspectral imager manufactured by Simera Sense.
It was launched aboard a Falcon 9 on 30 March 2026.
