Round 3
So how about this?
We'll all do ONE MORE LITTLE GAME...
One last ENCORE!
And this time, we'll play
Until you LIKE IT.
Tenna, Chapter 3
Near the midpoint of Chapter 3 of Deltarune, Tenna launches an impromptu third round of TV Time designed to trap his contestants in an endless game. During this round, Tenna takes full control of the game and administers quizzes, certain encounters, and physical challenges in a linear, side-scrolling game board.
Soon after discovering Toriel being held captive in the Cold Place, the party is caught by Tenna and transported back to the game show. Here, Tenna presents a game board set in "TV CITY" and explains that the party must collect Qs from across the city.[note 1] At this point, Susie and Ralsei stop Tenna, demanding that he release Toriel and let them seal the Dark Fountain. Tenna undergoes a mental breakdown in response, imprisoning the party where they stand and subjecting them to a game board in which he takes full control.

During the board, Tenna's insecurities begin to flare up as he desperately attempts to garner approval from his contestants. The quizzes he presents show all self-serving answers, and battles are ended by saying "I love TV", the latter of which are eventually repeated indefinitely.
Kris participates in each physical challenge alone. They are heavily altered and show signs of deterioration. Eventually, the party manages to escape the board by exploiting a Zapper's ACT options. Tenna sounds an alarm and orders his employees to search for the party.
The games played are heavily rigged and altered, and consist of quizzes, battles, and physical challenges.

The game board itself consists of Tenna's The Legend of Tenna avatar walking to the right in an endlessly-looping fiery landscape, with CRTs flickering and broken pillars. An object or NPC occasionally blocks the way, indicating which game will be played next: a quiz vortex for quizzes, a Shadowguy for battles, and a door for physical challenges. The Shadowguy and the quiz vortex visibly run away from Tenna as he approaches. After each game, if the party took significant damage, a healing spring appears on the path, which heals the party to full HP when Tenna walks over it.
During the quizzes, Tenna asks a question and provides four possible answers, all of which are correct. Tenna damages the party if they fail to answer before the timer runs out. If Kris answers, Susie selects the same answer as Kris and Ralsei selects a random answer; otherwise, the other party members do not answer.
During battles, the party cannot damage or spare any enemy. Tenna changes every button to "ACT", thus forcing the party to only select ACTs. Every ACT involves all three party members, meaning Susie and Ralsei cannot perform any individual actions. If a party member is DOWNed, Tenna automatically revives them.
| Order | Type | Scenario |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Quiz | - |
| 2 | Battle | Against Tenna |
| 3 | Physical challenge | Cooking Show |
| 4 | Quiz | - |
| 5 | Battle | Against Tenna and Shadowguy |
| 6 | Physical challenge | Rock Video |
| 7 | Quiz | - |
| 8 | Battle |
|
| 9[condition 3] | Physical challenge | Monster Movie |
| 10[condition 3] | Quiz | - |
| 11[condition 4] | Battle | Against Tenna and Zapper |
During the board, the following games are played, in order:
A quiz which asks the following question:
AREN'T YOU HAVING SO MUCH FUN?
- OF COURSE!
- OF COURSE!
- OF COURSE!
- OF COURSE!
A battle against Tenna, where the party can only ACT. Tenna only uses his "All-Star Cast" attack. The following ACTs are available:

ILOVETV
Instantly ends the battle.

Resist
Triggers an attack from Tenna. Four repeated uses of this ACT automatically ends the battle.

Kris participates in an altered version of the Cooking Show. The room is darkly lit, and Susie and Ralsei are still imprisoned. Before the round begins, Tenna implores Kris to remember the times they used to play in front of him with Asriel. When Tenna asks why they no longer do that, he is shocked to learn that Asriel went to college. He then provides nonsensical instructions for the challenge.
When the challenge begins, alley_ambience plays, and fire begins raining from the top of the screen. Contact with the fire inflicts 10 HP of damage to Kris. In the foreground, silhouetted ICE-E figures travel across the floor, exiting the right pipe and entering the left.
A quiz which asks the following question:
WHAT'S ANOTHER WORD FOR, "TELEVISION?"
- MAN'S BEST FRIEND
- "THE GOOD STUFF"
- BETTER THAN EMAIL
- NEVER THROWN AWAY
A battle against Tenna and a Shadowguy. Tenna's ACTs are recycled from the previous battle. The Shadowguy's ACTs have the following effects.

Boogie
Dance, don't get hit!
Increases MERCY in the same way as the standard Boogie ACT. However, since there is no way to spare the Shadowguy, this ACT functionally has no effect.

Sharpshoot
Light 'em up
Following the next two games, this battle is repeated once more if the Shadowguy was not fired. If the Shadowguy was fired, the board instead triggers the third battle.

Kris alone participates in an altered version of the Rock Video. Tenna reacts to the upcoming song with dread and quickly flees.
The song is an extremely sped-up and distorted version of NOW'S YOUR CHANCE TO BE A. The song has only one long note charted, and missing it does not damage the party. When the game ends, Tenna acts confused at what happened.
A quiz which asks the following question:
WHAT'S THIS BUTTON ON THE TELEVISION DO?
- NEVER PRESS IT
- I DON'T KNOW
- UNUSED
- I'M SORRY. I'M SORRY
The quiz is accompanied by an image of a television set. The OFF button is highlighted by an arrow pointing to it.

If the Monster Movie minigame has been played, a Monster Movie challenge occurs at this point. It features Kris alone on the barren Monster Movie set. A small, golden Tenna is seen sprinting in the center, approaching over the horizon. Tenna then rapidly covers the entire screen with a loud car horn sound, ending the "challenge".
If the Monster Movie challenge occurred, it is followed by a quiz which asks the following question:
WHAT TIME ARE YOU GONNA WATCH TV TOMORROW?
- MORNING TIL NIGHT
- DUSK TIL DAWN
- BREAKFAST TO DINNER
- I WON'T EVEN GO TO CHURCH. I'LL WATCH IT FOREVER. IT'S ALL I HAVE. IT'S EVERYTHING TO ME.
This battle is triggered after quiz 3, or after quiz 4 if the Shadowguy battle was repeated. A battle against Tenna and a Zapper. Tenna's ACTs are recycled from the previous battles. The Zapper only uses its "Laser" attack. The Zapper's ACTs have the following effects.

VolumeUp
Bullets give big TP...
The Zapper's bullets grow larger in size, but they give drastically greater amounts of TP when grazed.

Mute
Tire enemies
Costs 32% TP. Increases the Zapper's MERCY by 25% and inflicts TIRED. Since there is no way to spare or Pacify the Zapper, this ACT functionally has no effect.

OffButton
Turn it off
Costs 100% TP. The party disappears from the battle screen. Tenna notices their disappearance and orders his employees to search for them, ending the battle and the board.
If all possible games have been played at this point, ending the battle through Tenna's ACTs causes Tenna to repeat this battle indefinitely.

This board was originally planned to be the fourth board played during Chapter 3, following the City Board.[1] It would later replace the City Board's position as the third board following its omission from the final product. In addition, various assets related to this board are internally referred to using the prefix board4, reflecting its original position as the fourth board.
Unused code also revealed that the cut "Hall of Fame" graphic, which was partially teased in the Spamton Sweepstakes, would have appeared during the cutscene leading up to the Round 3 board. The code reveals that the sprite would have landed down in front of the TV from the top of the screen, and then break into two, with each half of the sprite sliding out of frame.[2]
