My LJ turned 10 this year. *shocked*

It just occurred to me that I haven't posted since September. *sigh*

I'm not dead! There's just been a lot going on.

1. I'm moving out of this apartment in November. Black mold has invaded my kitchen, and since the Health Department is "talking to the landlord", I'm not sticking around while he takes another year to make the damned fix.

Yes, I'm surprised that I'm not ill either.

2. I am moving in with my high school best friend. He's got an extra bedroom, an extra bathroom, and he's letting me keep the sewing room. It'll take off about $300 from the expenses I currently have. Which will give me a chance to catch up, rebuild my savings, and well, come home to someone actually being there. There's a rather fun story that I'll drill down for the sake of bullet points. When he messaged me on FB about it, I made him give me 15 reasons why we wouldn't kill each other in the first month.

He only gave me two. A) He still considers me family, after all of these years. B) If it meant that he had the chance to get a good friend back, he'd take it.
 *sniffles*

*sneezes*

Much better.

3. My hostile coworker was fired. And there was a little bit of dancing in the eCommerce department. And then cursing, because they divvied up her workload. What little there was of it.

4. Means Dead in some languages.

5. Cars are evil. The Blue Dorito was almost the Sold Blue Dorito.

6. I got another promotion. :)

7. I went out with my coworker and her husband. Well, the night will make my erotica flow better. (You will need to pry that story out of me. I promise that it's funny as hell.)

8. Next year will be interesting. :)

9. Newton Geizsler is my spirit animal.

10. Okay, time to hit the sack. To crawl out of bed at 6am. Gah.

So I went was in Georgia from Wednesday to Sunday morning. I had a nice time, a few moments of "Mom, you're a fucking moron", and a lot of face palming and thinking that her new ....fiance is a racist bastard. "Oh, there's a few black colleges in Atlanta too, but you can't get bachelors there, so they really don't count." "Except I went to a 'black' college and I've done just fine with my little applied associates."  "Oh, that, um, I'm sorry."

And came back a little crispy around the edges. Warning: Cleavage undercut.

So, I made a thing. It's below the cut, but it was an experiment on sewing a six-panel overskirt because yeah, just as firestar9mm takes her martial arts seriously, I'm adopting belly dance as the thing that keeps me out of my apartment.

The ruffles are satin (evil!) and the velvet is from an old duvet cover that I was never going to use but couldn't bear to get rid of.
