Yesterday I was at a party filled with gorgeous and intelligent people. I was leaning against the wall, talking with one of the gorgeouser and intelligenter of the folks there when a bug flew into my eye.

Fallen42, bless him, escorted me to the bathroom, witnessed the wings, legs, and guts of the bug spattered against my eyeball, and poured water into my eye until most of the flotsom and jetsom of bugginess was OFF my eyeball and IN the tub.

First of all, I am a lucky woman to have someone like Fallen42 to turn to when bugs fly into my eye. He even kissed me afterward, and that earns him chivalry/romance points in spades.

Second of all, I've heard these things come in threes. With the public puking on Friday and the public eye-bugging on Saturday, I'm wondering precisely what will happen to me today (when I plan on being fairly public). Maybe I can look forward to twisting my ankle at Peet's or sneezing on the face of a church visitor.

I'll wear sensible shoes and carry Kleenax.
