(A correction from my prior post. The men I approached weren't soldiers, but Federal police.)
I'm feeling a little spooked, because the bombing happened on Thursday, and I had been exactly where it happened on Monday of last week. I walked many blocks that day, including (Bolivia, Guatemala, and 16 de Septiembre street) when I shared with you in a prior post, that I had approached those soldiers federal police who said I could take their pic, but the 8th one kept telling me no, then hissed at me "largate" which is the most disrespectful, horrible and violent way of saying "get out of here" in Spanish. I've also recalled how this one guy looked at me when he wanted me to give him money. The look in his eyes was sheer hatred. I also recall one man who was crossing one street next to me tell me in a sad, but enraged voice that THEY had finally destroyed Juarez. ( ContinuedCollapse )
1. I've had my passport (my key to the world) for a long time, because I try to travel quite a bit. Before June 2 of this year, you could drive into J-Town, (Juarez, Mx.) and drive back just by saying "American" at customs. As of June 2, 2009, you MUST have a passport to re-enter the States. If you don't have your passport, you're stuck in Mexico FOREVER!
I make sure my passport, along with cash, is in a plastic baggy which I keep pinned inside my bra with a safety pin. This is just a precaution on my part, should I get mugged. I've been driving into Juarez an awful lot this year, but after having to wait in long line for up to 2, sometimes 3 hours, I've started parking my car in a parking lot located close to the border on the American side, then walking across. I've recently started riding my bicycle to get over there, making it much faster to travel throughout the city to take pictures. I have quite a collection now which I'll post, little by little, here soon, along with some of the pics I took on my recent trip to Nicaragua, and Washington, D.C.
You'll never guess what these adorable, and delicious pastries are called in Spanish! :o)
The pastries are called Pedos de Monja (Farts of a Nun). Seriously!
"Some laws of state aimed at curbing crime are even more criminal." - Friedrich Engels
"Society prepares the crime, the criminal commits it." - Henry Thomas
"All our lauded technological progress - our very civilization - is like the axe in the hand of the pathological criminal.” - Albert Einstein
Obama's, McCain's and others passport files have been breached by State Department employees.
If these high profile political peoples passport files have been breached, I'm POSSITIVE I, who is among the many LITTLE PEOPLE with passports, have been breached, also. EVERY SINGLE aspect of MY personal life, can be found in my passport file! I for one, have done everything in my power, such as shredding papers which contain my name and address, but what the hell for, when our own government has proven such incompetence at keeping State Department SNOOPS from accessing these presidencial canidates private information?
WHY was this information kept from the American people for so long?
"We're sorry," just DOESN'T cut it for for American people!
I still worry about the day the Department of Veteran's Affairs lost a VA laptop back in 2006, which contained over 20 million veteran's identfying personal informations such as SSN's, DOB, etc. I DO NOT appreciate the fact that I, as well as 20 million military veterans, must be VIGILANT for the rest of my life when it comes to my financial and personal information which was in that LOST laptop!
And lets not forget the 4.2 million credit and debit card numbers stolen in March of this year, from a U.S. Supermarket Chain!
You seem to have dropped off the face of the earth. I don't mind the Livejournal part, mostly everyone's gone, but you've abandoned Facebook and Twitter. I'm just concerned that you tempted…
So where are you now and how are you doing? Yes, I did have a major accident in 2014 that kept off the scene until this year. Basically I got out of the hospital in 2 months, but then spent a year…
