Designed for unstable starting points
WX begins with small generative decisions instead of a blank patch. It is built for quick accidents, slow movement, and tones that feel like they are being negotiated in real time.
A randomized virtual synthesizer
WX begins with small generative decisions instead of a blank patch. It is built for quick accidents, slow movement, and tones that feel like they are being negotiated in real time.
Double-click the radar screen to randomize the patch.
WX lets the patch drift, mutate, and surprise, while keeping the user in control.
WX is intentionally compact. Its interface is deliberately limited so users don’t get lost among dozens of knobs. This allows randomness and probability to take on the truly unconventional role.
With each random generation, variables such as oscillator shape, filter settings and type, ADSR, effect balance, drift behavior, and more are determined in a controlled way. Rather than producing completely noisy or unusable random sounds, WX mathematically optimizes its generative algorithm to create sounds that can be used musically.
