Other/historical names associated with this locality:
Bou N'has Mine; Bou N'hass Mine; Bounhas

The annual production extracted from this deposit since 2014 is estimated at 300,000 tons at an average grade of 1.73% Cu. The current mineral resources of the Bounhas deposit are estimated at 3,772,773 tons at a grade of 1.73% Cu, representing 64,441 tons of copper metal.

The mineralization of the Bounhas deposit is of the lenticular lode type, generally oriented E-W and south-dipping. It is hosted in detrital sedimentary rocks represented by alternating bars of sandstone-quartzite and pelites forming Unit 3 of the 2nd Upper Bani Formation (Ordovician). In the principal lode of Bounhas, the mineralization is represented by four principal textures: brecciated, ribbonized and disseminated to massive textures.
