An abandoned mine worked worked on chalcopyrite–pyrrhotite–sphalerite ore, occurring in contact with a metamorphic garnet–amphibole–epidote skarn.

History
Test mining for sphalerite at Glomsrudkollen, on Øståsen in southern Modum, began in 1870. Four to five men carried out the initial work, and within a month they extracted 110 tons of black ore. Despite this promising start, operations were halted shortly thereafter.

In 1899 a Belgian company resumed test mining with a workforce of about 20 men. That year they extracted 286 tons of ore containing 30–50% zinc, but mining ceased again by the end of the year. Activity restarted in 1907, and by the following year 56 people were employed at the site. In 1909 the mining rights were transferred to a German company. Operations at Glomsrudkollen finally ended in 1921. The mines were sold to another company in 1928, but mining never resumed.
--
The dumps outside the lower adit (Bunnstollen; see map) have unfortunately been almost completely removed in connection with road construction. These dumps yielded several interesting mineral specimens during the 1970s and 1980s.

The coordinates refer to the dump site outside the lower adit.
