Landslide at western slope of Iōdake with Monogusa fumarole field

Monogusa, Iodake, Satsuma-Ioujima, Mishima village, Kagoshima District, Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan
Low-temperature fumarole fields at a rockfall at the lower western slopes of Iodake. Sulfur is present around the fumaroles. The most common minerals around the fumarole field are cristobalite in clays formed by rock alteration and opal that forms crusts overgrowing altered rocks and clays.
