Referred to in an article in 1949 as one of the richest finds in the Nullagine district. Bill Hunter had sunk a shaft to 70 feet. The first 14 feet was barren, then an incredibly rich patch was struck, which filled three large coffee jars of almost pure gold, from two kerosene tins of ore. It amounted to 350 ounces in the jars. The pocket it came from was 4 feet deep by 4 inches wide. It was claimed by old prospectors at the time to be the richest dab ever discovered in the Pilbara for the amount of ore to gold. The area was known for extremely rich patches from the early 1900's, however they never went to any extent, and were often separated by months of dead work.
To reach the area travel south along a road from the Skull Springs Road, half-way between the Nullagine River and Five Mile Creek. After about 5 kilometres, there is a myriad of tracks, and bulldozed areas, covering a couple of square kilometres. This is mainly east of the main track, which ends at a dam or small muddy lake.
