Köppen climate type:
Go west 400 metres of the Kong Bore to a sandy creek channel, and follow the creek south into the ranges for 1.2 kilometres. Where the creek divides, walk up the south-west tributary for 200 metres, with the diggings on the summit of the second ridge to the west (per Thompson).
Colourless and golden yellow calcite has been collected in the vicinity (at least in the mid 1980's when written). The dump has yielded small schorl crystals, and sparse quartz crystals. Perthitic microcline, some with multiple twinning is found, and small muscovite specimens.
Country rock shows as Riddock amphibolite, with dark green to black hornblende, and white plagioclase feldspar, as a speckled rock.
