orogenic Gold deposit
The Naakenavaara deposit is situated just over 5 km SSW from Hirvilavanmaa and is enriched in Cu, Co, and Ni in addition to Au. Best Cu intercepts exceed 1.7 wt%, (best intercept is 2.3 m-long and has 1.77 wt% Cu), whereas Au concentrations are generally low but locally 1 m-long intercepts reach up to 10 ppm. Enrichment of Ni (up to 0.5 wt%) is typically connected to the presence of gersdorffite, whereas so far there is no information on the minerals related to the up to 0.3 wt% enrichment of Co.
