Copper mine known since 1854 (Sahra Nov 2020) that produced ore between 1976-1981 (Luttig 2018) and abandoned 1983-84 (Sahra Nov 2020). Shortly after commencement of the mine sub-level open stoping began and it has a vertical mined area of 36,000m², a depth of 180m height and 200m width (Luttig 2018).
The mine is at the base of the mountain although there are several shafts or adits known, on the slopes above. At the top of the mountain, images clearly show two glory holes (sinkholes) exceeding 200m filled with water to unknown depths (Luttig 2018).
In February 2023, a drilling campaign has commenced with the first two boreholes showing potential with copper values between 5-7% with the new development being 50m away from underground infrastructure already in place (Mining Weekly).
