Marching Thru Time was a pleasant and not too stressful Three Left Feet gig.
What little stress there was came mostly from being informed at the last minute that they would like me to bring and set up my sound system. Having already decided that I wasn't just bringing it without confirmation anyway, I didn't do any pre-sorting and pre-loading of the van.
Instead I'd been working on the new CD. BTW, that is going pretty darn well. Out of the 15 songs I've chosen for the CD, there are 5 songs that seem to be DONE. One that could stand one more tweak. One that is going to be re-dubbed from the source (I need to sanity check that I didn't dub it too hot- there's some clipping that IF it's removable, I'd like to not have.) but might be DONE anyway. Songwise, I'm about half-way to completely done, but work- wise it's more like 3/4.
ANYWAY- back to MTT. So the loading and hauling and setting up was a bit of a rush job. After I got that out of the way, things went pretty well. 3LF (the band at least) acquitted itself very well considering our personell count and that one of the band had never played live with us before. Our amplified set was ALMOST gremlin-free, and we sounded very nice once that lone gremlin was chased off. I also got to do some solo singing, which went well, except I forgot to bring a tip bowl, and I hadn't had a chance to pick out all the songs that would have been a good fit for the event. I winged it okay tho and provided some good lunchtime amusement.
The most excellent surprise came when Durgill and I spotted one another. He was part of a WWII group re-enacting the British long range desert infantry.
Durgill, King of the old Markland group; Bardoom, was one of the finest and funnest of people, and he attracted more of the same. Hanging out with Bardoom was one of the things that made Markland GREAT to be in when I was most active. We were "Smart, like rock. Swift, like fence!" and had awesomely funny jokes like "Raft". I know some old friends from the Bardoom days read this journal. They'll know of what I speak. BTW, to you folks, Durgill says "Hi". Did you know that Bardoom has a yahoogroup now? I've already petitioned to join.

Very similar set-up to how LJ was before the buy-up. I'm told there's a way to do an auto-import of…
On a side note, speaking of albums, when was your previous one released? I am wondering if I managed to miss it and would…
See, the thing is, the issues I bring up, while not always the norm, are still pretty common, and I think they ought to be addressed.
But that aside, I also think that there's umbrage…
