Two reviewers wanted Beregond and yes, i admit draft 1 didn't have him so here he is! I think i'll insert this into Chapter 13 when i repost. :) Muse has me towards the end of the story as well. (rewriting some Chapter 21 though so not ready to post)

and probably hopefully get inspired to close it out soon?

RL is kinda busy nowadays... but it's getting colder which means the timeline is about right alongside where the fic is going as well.

But this came from the muse after tolkien100 put "Summer thunderstorms" as the prompt

I always wanted more Fourth Age stuff about Faramir... this tidbit from the Letters just whets my appetite for more. :P Also to know more about how Aragorn and Faramir governed Gondor and the free lands of Middle-earth in the Fourth Age would be so cool to read about. And this letter says that Tolkien anticipated more conflict in Fourth Age so that'll be interesting to see what obstacles had to be overcome. :)

A little ficlet because i have a Siege of Gondor obsession these days ;)

Summary- Post-Quest:What if Faramir used being busy as an excuse and cover to how he really felt during and after the time of coronation? What if PTSD weighs down on him far more than he cared to admit and others failed to notice? A fic to give him some comfort from the hobbits, Aragorn, Imrahil and of course Eowyn. Also appearances from Galadriel, Arwen, Legolas, Gimli and Gandalf, and Eomer and OFC.

Thanks to lindahoyland and my sister for beta-ing and Grey_wonderer for all her emails for feedback and encouragement. My long WIP (112 pages and going :P)

I can't sleep till i answer this because Tolkien was pretty lopsided in speaking Faramir's side in Steward and the King chapter, i thought. 

So what did Eowyn understand in the following quote? what is "it", pray?

this is like a double drabble and a half thingamagig... so it may be elongated...

...(i don't think i ever wrote Boromir, maybe with hobbits?) I craved some Boromir and Faramir interaction before Boromir left Minas Tirith and this is what materialized .

A little ficlet before Boromir left the White City- conversation with Faramir (Standalone or maybe more...i'm not sure yet)

“Do you really have to leave? It was my dream; I should know about the meaning myself and help Gondor. I will go in your stead- you have to convince Father that that is the better decision,” said Faramir insistently to Boromir the eve before Boromir was to depart.

“You know he will not change his mind,” replied Boromir sympathetically, whose younger brother’s dark eyes pierced him as he looked away and tried to convince Faramir that it was better that he go. “It is too late and you know how stubborn Father can be.”

“I am a better horseman after all and I know my way around.”

“It is a perilous quest and not all maps denote properly where Imladris is. It is far too dangerous. You stay here and protect our country- it is an important task.”

“Your task is just as important! You can help Father change his mind- you know he favors you,” Faramir would not let go of this. His heart foreboded dark times and he felt like he needed to go on this Quest.

“I’ve tried already to dissuade him of his decision -you have to trust me that I want the best for you and Gondor. I wouldn’t go unless I must.”
