My brother won a fee month of karate from one of the karate schools in town, so he and I decided to go to a class today. It was pretty small, only four other people plus the two instructors, but I liked it. A nice workout without feeling exhausted afterwards, and I've wanted to take self-defense for ages now. They hold morning/afternoon classes Tuesdays and Thursdays, so Dan and I are going to try to make this a regular thing.
After that, Dan came over and played Katamari, and he was highly amused but the over Japaneseweirdness of the game.
I went over to my parents and ended up having dinner, wow, that's the first meal there I've had since I moved (and I used to have dinner there once, sometimes twice a week for a while).

I don't suppose anyone on my flist is going to Ai-Kon in August? I know alternate_socks is (and of course chibirydia and alvonia because we're going together).
The hotel the Ai-Kon site suggested is the delta winnipeg, which is across the street, costs 99 CAD a night plus tax/fees, and that's with the Ai-Kon discount rate. But the Carlton Inn, which is actually closer cause it's literally right next to the convention center costs 75 CAD and that includes fees/tax so I booked a room there I WIN YAY.
And Katamari, I don't understand, it's a game where you roll a ball and pick crap up WHY IS IT SO ADDICTING. And it is the most obviously Japanese game I've played in a long time.
Girly TMI-ish: I hate cramps! But I think the Ibuprofen is kicking in YAY
I'm playing mario picross (which is a gameboy game, but yes I'm playing the rom on my compy). It's a logic game where numbers correspond to grid locations and you uncover a picture. DON'T DOWNLOAD IT it's friggen addicting.
Anyway, this one was the my most recently completed puzzle:
Is the game on crack or is my visual interpretation of the word 'samurai' extremely off? I even image-googled the stupid word just to make sure my mind wasn't on sleepy-delirium mode. To me it looks like a deformed mouse holding a nail with a screwdriver head.
So let's play find the samurai and explain to Becky where it is exactly.
Yesterday Jeff and I ventured over to radio shack where I bought this nifty TV to video game signal switch that looks similar to the one for my Atari, but it has an output for cable/coax (unlike the old one) and also unlike the old one, this one is all shiney and new and is not beat up-looking.
So I played atari on a new TV! (Since new TVs no longer have input screws for VHF. sad sad).
I beat Megaman 4, and I started playing 5. In the original NES version, you had to collect a letter in each stage to get Beat (the bird dude)...the letters spelled out MEGAMANV. In this PS2 game, it spells out MEGAMAN5. .......are they afraid people can't read Roman numerals anymore? They use 'V' instead of '5' on the title screen. eh.
I hate this time of month >___< I never remember my cramps being this bad in high school...I suppose I was a lot more active then with sports and all...owwwwwch ;___; the other night I heard this commercial on TV for some sort of medication where you could have your period only four times a year. That is really damn tempting. Enough ranting about girl issues. Today I'm going to finish Dan's painting. All I have left are his eagles. And since I now have a digital camera, I can plug in here when I'm done X) OOOh! OOooh! Rachel bought the new Megaman game for PS2! It has all the old school games (1-6, plus 7 and 8), and apparently it has a couple games never released in the US! (but I think you need to unlock them somehow first). YAYAYAYYAYAYAYY!! I can not forget to grab my memory card when I go to my parents' today.
So far today I've cleaned my room a bit, dusted my dresser and computer desk (it needed it), and burned a CD (and it's only 11:00!). I'm retiring my old, crappy mix cd's I never listen to (you know, ones with a few good songs, and a lot of crap songs that make you wonder what you were on when you made those CDs). Also my CD holder is in desperate need of space. I already condensed 4 crappy CDs into one good one. woo!
I'm still depressed about Spooky; in fact I probably will be for quite a while, but I'm dealing. We *might* even get another cat after Spooky dies...my Dad said he read that you shouldn't have just one cat, as the one (Luna) would get bored. So basically he thinks we should get another cat for Luna, which coming from my Dad is a really incredible thing (since he was not at all into cats at all before we got ours).
Also I would like to say that I love old-school Sonic games. I'm still amazed at how large and complex the levels are, especially for a platforms games at that time. I'd love to have level maps of all the genesis games, but the internet does not have them!! rawrr!!!11! I'm tempted to make them myself, but it would probably take me an entire day or two just to make one...wait wait...debug mode! that would cut the time in half...*mubmle* I'm such a geek XD Maybe that can be another summer project of mine...who knows.
Somebody had better go here and buy me one of these. Now.
My finals yesterday rather sucked (well, art history wasn't so bad I guess, but computer architecture was just evil.) But whatever. I'm done until September and I don't care. So I'm trying hard not to waste my time worrying about it. In other crappy news, Mom says Spooky's starting to get worse again. She's taking her to the vet tomorrow (I'll probably go with) to have a biopsy done so we can determine the exact problem. Please God just let be some nasty abcess and not a tumor. I know she's just a cat, but seriously, she's like, been my baby since fourth grade.
In good news, though, I'm hoping to get a lot of stuff done today. I'll be heading off to my parents' sometime soonish and I'll probably be there most of the day. I'll do laundry as usual, play DDR, and I have some stuff I need to buy. Like Tif's Sailor Moon color manga ^__^ and I totally do not see Tiffany enough any more. gotta to change that. XD I'm thinking about going to Dan's baseball game, and beg my parents to pay for the admission fee (it's only like 5 bucks, but I'm sure I can get them to pay it). I'm also bringing the Nintendo back, and stealing the Sega. It's been over a year, probably two or three since I really played it. yay Sonic!
Some guy is here looking at our heaters for some reason...errr...was here, he left now. I was working on my puzzle, but I 'took a break' to come hide in my room. He informed me that our heaters are closed, and unless we open them we won't get as much heat (I didn't even know we could open them, and I'm not going to because IMO it gets too hot in here anyway). Kim is going to come over tonight, and we're going to go to Sammy's because I've accumulated enough gift certificates that I could buy enough pizza for about 5 or 6 people. Seriously though, I've got 2.86 5.31 5.32 7.40 for a grand total of 20.89 XD
The other night I went to my parents' and I played DDR. I unlocked a remix of AM-3P which is my FAVORITE DDR SONG EVER!! But I can only play it on 'Challenge' mode or whatever and it is soooo damn hard ;___; So that was rather depressing. Tomorrow I'm going out to lunch with Mom, Dad and Shawn at the Eagles...and besides that, no other plans. DAN WHAT ARE YOU DOING FRIDAY AFTERNOON rotk? If not, we'll eventually work something out, lol.
I went to the house that I thought might have gotten my game on accident, but...nope. Oh well, I let the seller know to send me a refund (since it was their fault that the address was screwed up). I'll have to look for the game again on Ebay, unless someone reading this has or knows someone who has Megaman 5 and would sell it to me...^_^;; Anyway, on a happier note...I have today off! yay! Today I will go to Media Play...and BUY MATRIX 2!!!! WEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!! And last time I was there, they had anime/manga ART BOOKS. WOAH. but none of theme were from artists/series that I wanted to get...maybe they'll have a better selection this time. That would kick ass. Arg, I have a math test tomorrow. We'll see how that goes.
