LUR 1 , designed by the Spanish company AVS, is a complete IOD (in orbit demonstration) space mission, to design, assembly, test, launch, and operate a satellite mission, including the Space Segment (SSEG), Ground Segment (GSEG) and User Segment (USEG).

The LUR-1 mission includes a satellite of 57 kg, built on AVS's LUR microsatellite platfor, with an Earth Observation payload. LUR-1 will also integrate the following IOD experiments and payloads:

  • 1 unit of MICE (Mechanical Interface for Capture at EOL)
  • 9 Proximity Operations Fiducial Markers
  • 1 Retroreflector
  • 1 SADA and complete deployable Solar Array including an SMA (Shape Memory Alloy) HDRM actuator developed by AVS
  • 1 unit of QKD technology demonstrator including one single photon detector developed by AVS
  • Communications: X-Band TX, S-Band TX/RX, and UHF TX/RX
  • 1 Main Optical Payload for Earth imaging with a GSD of 1.5m
