Waratah Seed 1 (WS 1) []
Waratah Seed 1 (WS 1) is Australia's first commercial ride-share mission, launching an Australian-built 6U CubeSat and a variety of Australian payloads into Low Earth Orbit. Waratah Seed's mission, partially funded by the NSW Government through their Space Industry Development program, is to provide space flight qualification opportunities to NSW startup and industry-led teams, allowing them to test and prove the function and capability of their novel technologies in a real-world space environment, which is critical for attracting customers and investors. The Waratah Seed consortium consists of CUAVA and the University of Sydney, the Australian Space Engineering Research Centre (ACSER) at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Macquarie University, the Delta-V Space Hub, and Saber Astronautics.
