A producing gold district with gold in mesothermal veins and alluvial deposits derived from them. Other potential commodities here include, Ag, Ni, Cr, Pt, talc, kyanite.

The Adola Belt constitutes a complex domain divided into granite-gneiss complexes (GGC), including the Adola and Genale-Dolo complexes, and ophiolitic fold-and-thrust belts (OFTB), including the Megado, Kenticha, and Bulbul mafic–ultramafic and volcano-sedimentary belts. The whole Adola Belt was subsequently intruded by late- to post-orogenic granites, some of them highly fractionated. The Adola Belt hosts several mineral systems, such as the orogenic gold at Lega Dembi Mine, the Ta-Li-Be pegmatite at the Kenticha Mine, and the tectonic-magmatic-related emerald occurrence known as the Halo-Shakiso emerald field.
