Dooros mines were a series of Victorian era trials for copper and sulfur on the Dooros peninsula around 1854-55 and 1860. There are three distinct sets of workings marked on the 6" map.

The western working (Dooros-1) consists of a small open shaft in a field at ITM 505365 751839.

The eastern working (Dooros-4) consists of a short driving into the face of a ridge at ITM 506043 751521 in a wooded area along with a nearby grassy trench. There is no evidence visible today of the shaft recorded in the literature.

A final coastal trial working (Dooros-6) is marked on the 6" map in the rough vicinity of ITM 504842 751548 although it is unclear if anything is still visible today. Judging by the scale of the larger Dooros-1 and Dooros-4 workings it is likely to be very minor.

Note that the numbering scheme above is as per the following book - Mineral localities in the Dalradian and associated igneous rocks of Connemara, County Galway
by N Reynolds; Geological Survey of Ireland.
