Kiyanja
Mount Baker or Kiyanja, like all mountains in the Ruwenzori Range, has multiple jagged peaks along a ridge. The highest is Edward Peak (4843 m a.s.l.), made of amphibolite, on which numerous fulgurites are found.
According to Roccati (1907), Mount Baker essentially consists of amphibole schists, mica schist, and diorite. Crystalline limestone, chlorite schist, diabase, and epidosite are present at the foot of Edward Glacier. On all the mountain are abundant quartz dykes; epidote veins, in which epidote prisms are associated with Baveno twins of K feldspar and quartz; calcite veins, lenses and drusy aggregates of pyrite, chalcopyrite, and ilmenite. A small galena vein in calcite gangue crops out on Wollaston Peak (4626 m).
