Köppen climate type:
Former copper mine located approxiimately 14km southeast of Duchess.
The mine operated two open pits.
"Scapolite-pyroxene granulites are strongly developed in the vicinity of the Trekelano Copper mine, 9 miles east-south-east of Duchess, but their full extent is unknown. The Trekelano orebody outcropped in pre-Cambrian hornblende schists, which trend north-south, and have been intruded by aplitic granite, in which the schists remain as pendants (Shepherd 1936, 1940, 1953)." (Edwards & Baker, 1953).
