Owww. My eyes hurt. Been staring at screen all day - although at least I have an excuse and 1000 words of my Reason and Passion essay to show for it. Nearly half-way through!
Andy's sure-fire way to write an essay:
1. Get as many books on the subject from the library as you can 2. Flick through them all and collect the most relevant quotes 3. Copy out all the quotes and rearrange them into chronological order 4. Fill in the gaps ;)
Annie teh puppet currently has all her bits except for hair and shoes. Brilliant! There's one more project to tick off the list. Theatre, on the other hand... not nearly so fun, or interesting. Bleh. Just don't go there.
Have watched all four seasons of QI in a row. Is BEST QUIZ SHOW EVAR. Some of the shitty American and Australian ones could do with some real British comedy. I think.
Did I mention how much I HATE them? The eye guy says I can start wearing contacts again, which would be fine if I hadn't left them all at college, which means tomorrow afternoon at the latest.
Seriously, my face feels lopsided. Like I'm still wearing them. Grrrrrr.
Been entertained today by people on thedressingroom after finishing my Cinema Studies project, YAY. ZOE, how'd you go? I can't wait to talk to you about one of my sources - no seriously, it's a bloody hilarious story. YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO HEAR IT. PS SCREENING TOMORROW WHY AM I TALKING IN CAPS?
Lack of grammar caused by excitement at having come to bed thinking about sleeping and finding loads of tdr replies AND a real one from Ash.
Watched James Bond with my Dad tonight, first JB for me, ever. I had the woman picked right from the part where she started snogging him. I've obviously been reading/watching too much stuff about film/writing, because the fact that she was suddenly all over him was far too good to be true, and even though my dad was all 'that's just the JB plot' I was like, there's something up.
I got my revenge, however, at the end. I understand it, he does not. Hoorah. I think I was following the poker game better, as well, which was weird, since I've played two days of poker in my life and we were playing for skittles, not $42,000,000.
It's like being in TA all over again. STUPID THEATRE ESSAY. *falls over*
On the upside, my eye doesn't really hurt anymore. On the downside, it still looks like I stole it from Voldemort. It better die down by Friday, because I have another job interveiw. Can you imagine that conversation? "Er... excuse my eye.. I promise it isn't always like this..."
Last night I got all set up to do my Theatre Arts research - but I'd just got back from a full day, plus Parent/Teachers, which proved to be, to say the least, pure evil, nerve-wracking, and the worst one ever. So I had a shower at about nine and thought, hey, I'll just rest my eyes for a bit, and I ended up fast asleep on top of the duvet, with my dressing gown on and contacts still in, which was HORRIBLE when I woke up, believe you me, and of course without doing any work whatsoever.
I think I should introduce Miss Gill to Pippin. The musical, that is.
Kind of Woman KIND OF WOMAN
CATHERINE I'm your average ordinary kind of woman Competent and neat Making life a treat Others as nice You meet often I know At least once or twice Every decade or so
I'm your everyday, customary kind of woman Practical as salt Modest to a fault Conservative with a budget Liberal with a meal Just your average ideal
My telling you this May seem sudden and strange It may not interest you much at all right now But things change Things change Still I'll understand if I'm not your kind of woman Anyone can make One terrible mistake But I've no special glamour No bait I can twirl For I'm just a plain, everyday Commonplace, come-what-may Average, ordinary wonderful girl!
EDIT: Ok, I forgot: does anyone by some miracle chance have 'The War of Jenkin's Ear' by Michael Morpurgo, or knows if it is in the library? I pine. Also I need it to write my play.
Current Music:A Kiss is a Terrible Thing to Waste - Whistle Down the Wind
So yesterday I spent most of the morning cutting large shapes out of newspaper and trying to fit them together to make a shark ray. Eventually I managed it, though I'm painfully away that newspaper is quite a different substance than soft fluffy material. So I have no idea what the final product will be like.
Then I spent the rest of the day going through all my icons, sharpening and brightening the images (something I've only just learned to do) and uploading them to my archive website. Unfortunately it seems it was all in vain, as Pagebuilder suddenly doesn't seem to want to let me upload any more pictures. This fucks everything up. Sometimes I don't know why I bother.
So today I'm going for my lenses check up, buying the material and coming back to attempt to make this model, which is going to end up more like a stuffed toy.
Also, I really should do something about this Giddy Goanna application. All I have to do is ring, get the monologue and make the tape before the 15th. But the auditions are in Sydney and Brisbane. So I don't know if I'll even be able to go, especially as they're at the end of november when YABC are performing.. oh bugger it. My horoscope said I was going to be faced with a life changing decision. I'll talk about it with my dad when he gets home.
-Woke up late -Went to Doncaster -Bought s6 Friends :D -Had contacts tuition and was allowed to wear them home 0_0!! -Assembled all the left-over furniture in the garage and took pictures of it for the ads. -Went back under the house to the little hidey hole and carried out VERY HEAVY tiles. Alice and I decided to use the wheelbarrow to get them back to the house, but managed to break a couple of them on the way.. -Finished the CD covers for the ones Dad messed up. Alice tried to help me with this too, but mostly just made 'helpful' comments. -Had a go at drawing Manga for no reason and it turns out I'm not half bad at it. If anyone has any manga magazines they'd like to lend/give/sell me I'd be smiley face! -Watched friends with Alice while pigging out.. -Took lenses out - took aaaages. -Went to bed.
Friday:
-Woke up early -Put lenses back in - took aaaages -Panicked because we were late -Drove to Trinity and spent long time trying to find the kitchens -Found them, met Julie and lots of other ladies -Was set to washing up immediately and spoke v. sparingly to Caitlin on the other side of the room.. -Morning tea, got to talk to Caitlin properly! -Lined cake tins for an hour, got to talk extensively to Alice and Caitlin -We finished aaaall the tins so we got to do more washing up 0_o -Was appointed job of fruit-scooping. YUCK. STICKYICK. -After lunchtime did wrapping of cakes, moving of crates and more lining of tins. -Went home -Took out lenses... didn't take that long -Watched more friends -Had takeaway pizza -Watched more friends -Got very very high on sugar and couldn't breath for laughing. -Went to bed
Today:
-Woke up VERY LATE. If Alice wasn't in my room at the moment I'd never get up. -Had a shower and put lenses in. Took seconds. -Put on painting clothes and went outside to paint the fence. My plan didn't totally work because the solar thingy was on and was really loud, so I couldn't hear any music from the bbq area unless I turned it up, but then Alice complained cos she could hear it in the house.. you get the picture. -Went inside to watch preface to GF - and IsawCaitlinOMG! -Did mooore painting. Got bored. -Went inside. -Wished I hadn't already had a shower. -Got changed.
Yesterday: Charli came over and we sang and danced and played the day away. :D I might have embarassed myself with my strange dance moves .. but OMG so worth it!! I have pictures, but I'll post them in a different post when I've resized them.
Today: Ok so we went to Doncaster and trimmed my fringe again (which I was against doing because I want to grow it out again, but I didn't want to stress my mum out, for reasons which will become apparent) and then we went to the opticians. I didn't really HAVE a plan, I was kind of making it up as I go along, but then he ASKED me if I would like contact lenses and I was like "OMGYESPLEASE." But I wasn't sure if my mum would totally agree because whenever I bring the subject up she points out that I'm not responsible enough to take care of them properly. But 'Steven' had a word with her and OMG she agreed!!!!! So he came back with test lenses and put them in and I saw my glasses-less reflection clearly in a mirror from a distance of three metres for the first time in about three years. I cried ;) It was amazing. So I'm having a tutorial on Thursday and then I get to wear them whenever I want *is still in awe* Also, I finished The Fifth Sorceress again *sob* - but this time I have the next one!! ..somewhere. I wonder how the next in the series can possibly contain as much sex and violence as the first one - everyone died in the first one!!! Oh well. Will find out later.
So holiday agenda is:
Wednesday: Melbourne Show!! Eee!
Thursday: Recieve contacts!
Friday: The Great Bake 9:00-3:15
Saturday: No YABC OMG. Possibly shopping at Northland, if not, will make a start on homework, of which there is actually a lot...
