So, my diary finally gave up on itself and died, so I threw it away, bar the last few pages. My last MLC diary. I feel no remorse whatsoever.
School is such an utter waste of time. Also, I detest History. And I have nothing to read.
Next year could not get here quick enough. Or December. December would be fine, that's all I want.
Yesterday we went to the Tulip Show - I had to drive there and I have decided that country roads are much worse than city roads, because you have to go a lot faster, they're very narrow and I'm driving a car which is not nicknamed Nelly for nothing. It was actually quite a nice day, except I was really hot and ending up burning my shoulders 0_o. But pretty flowers!
I'm pretty nostalgic about Alice going away, now. We did so much together over the holidays, I don't really know how I'm going to spend my time without her. Study, probably, now there's a novel idea.
So, even though I've done my portfolio and the English Paper 2.. I feel really unaccomplished. But this week sort of drained me, so I didn't have much else left in me, anyway.
Really don't want to do History or Theatre tomorrow.
SCREW PPA.
ETA: Also apparently I sing pop songs like Iyari Limon (who is 30 years old!) in the way that she doesn't pronounce g's on the end of words. It always pissed me off and now I'm imitating it, go figure.
ETA the second: Funny how the hardest thing about the portfolio turns out to be GETTING THE STAPLER THROUGH THE PAGES. No wonder we're meant to bind it. I kept so much crap for portfolio, for apparently no reason - I know Alpana shares this annoyance - I have theatre tickets from March last year. That's seriously hording.
ETA the third: Heavenly Voices is on Tuesday and I still don't have a song! Hooray!
Oh crap. I have an English thing due tomorrow. Two English things? I can't remember. And I need to do a history essay and I haven't done any Biol in like forever. OH HOLY GOD Maths IA is due next week. (Sorry Sannah). ARGHGHGHGHGHGH.
I'm done, I'll stop now. Promise.
I want to do Songs for a New World. All I need is some musicians and.. three other singers. Two of which have to be male and they all have to be pretty versitile. Ooh, this could take a few years ;)
It's about one moment The moment before it all becomes clear And in that one moment You start to believe there's nothing to fear It's about one second And just when you're on the verge of success The sky starts to change And the wind starts to blow And you're suddenly a stranger There's no explaining where you stand And you didn't know That you sometimes have to go ‘Round an unexpected bend And the road will end In a new world.
Current Music:The world was dancing - Songs for a New World
Had huge rant at lunchtime with Alana about how TOTALLY CRAP History is. It was fun! And now I have completed my third IA session - I have split it up into three major stress sessions: the first one when I cried for about half an hour before spending about three hours writing up a bullet-pointed outline, the second one where I spent an entire Saturday writing up a pretty decent draft, and this last one, where I stayed in the library until the last second it closed and then from 6.00-9.00 finishing up. I swear it's the first time EVER I've gone over the word count on something - YAY! Cutting out 500 words was painful, though. *sigh* Mostly I just got rid of the stuff she wanted me to 'rephrase' in the second draft, because it was too much hassle and none of it was important, really.
Oh holy hell, I have Spanish stuff to do. Oh well. I may as well get a decent night's sleep cos I know this is going to happen all over again when I get my RC back *gulp*.
Next up - Maths Project! Then Orals, IP, Portfolio, RC, PPA. Note how like half of that is TA. *sigh*
I was all set to do my History IA today. Then I started reading through the 'constructive' comments Dr Peterson made on my Draft, and I'm sapped of all motivation. She really can't congratulate on anything good can she? It's just rows of question marks and capital letters with subtext that says WHAT WERE YOU THINKING? I can't work when every other comment informs me of my own stupidity, which I knew enough about to start with, thanks very much. ARGH.
I want the rest of today to be over so I can go to the party without feeling guilty for not doing anything. Luckily I haven't got the draft back yet for my Research Commission so I have an excuse for not doing that... my Individual Project is still only half-done though, and I need to finish my Maths project, I think I was meant to do an unseen commentary but I can't remember what on, I've got all the Photosynthesis questions still to do despite spending four hours in the library the other day trying to catch up, and I've three days behind on my Spanish diary.
So before I make the same mistake I've made every holiday so far since the beginning of year 11, are we or are we NOT getting a history essay? Because she said she would email them and Idon'thaveoneandargh.
History IA - kind of handed in. Dot points. Short ones.
TOK Essay - finished. I didn't change much from the first draft because she didn't give me that many notes.
Maths Project - not really finished, but okay for a first complete draft. It's sixteen pages long and way over the word count if you include tables, but luckily this is the one IB thing so far that doesn't care if you go over the limit.
Singing Exam - was... okay. The guy was late, and then he showed, and then Mr. Baker showed, and he didn't want to wait around two hours for the examiner to catch up, so I ended up going in about half an hour early - um, shock! The songs were fine, except he made fun of me (I think... it was hard to tell) for using my music in Extra List. As for Extra List, after I spent SO LONG panicking about it and trying to learn them, I only had to do Lotusblume and only the first six bars of that. Ha! Technical work and aural tests - not so good. I'm going to get seriously marked down for not remembered what a plagal cadence is called. Sight reading was crap, but I'm past caring by this stage. Honestly, I don't think I pulled another A, but I may have managed a B, maybe a B+. If I get a C I think I'll cry... because over the last two years, singing is the one thing that I've actually got good marks in.
My Top Rated playlist has over 600 songs in it, which kind of defies the point of having a favourites playlist. So I'm going through all my songs and changing the ratings. Lalala. It makes me want to do an iTunes meme.
I've spent the last three days sorting out the piles of crap and paperwork that's been accumulating in my room and folders since school started in January, building my Dad's website, attempting to teach him the fundementals of keyboard shortcuts and failing miserably and watching House and My Family.
Long weekends ROCK. I've found some time to mess with my Maths project and TOK oral... History IA not so much, but I'm most worried about my Singing exam which I haven't really done anything for because there's so much and I don't know where to start. The rehearsal on Friday was really embarrassing, but mostly because of Mr. Baker constantly stopping me and explaining in no uncertain terms just what I did wrong...
