bubble bar / bath bomb expiration dates
fassy: nyc premiere
aldehyde
i'm going away on a christmas trip with the bf and thought i'd pack some bath stuff, especially since i still have a few leftover bath bombs and bubble bars from a huge purchase some time ago.

i'm thinking of taking sunny side and sex bomb, but the labels have faded off so i can't quite read the expiration dates. i'm pretty sure both products are at least 1-2 years old by now [!] they smell and look perfectly fine and i'd rather put them to good use instead of buying new supplies, but i'm not 100% sure..

any tips, fellow lushies? has anyone here used bubble bars/bath bombs that are that old?

Bath Bombs/bubble bars and Tub damage
xaceswildx
I read on here awhile back about certain bubble bars and bath bombs staining/ruining bathtubs. My bf and I just got a new house with a nice new tub in it so I can finally start using bath goodies... but I want to know which ones to stay away from.

I searched for a bit and can't really find anything about this (if I missed it, I'm sorry!)

Your wallets may hate me for this but...

I ADORE Lush!!

Hi everyone!!

I've only recently discovered Lush.  It started when I received a Christmas gift from a friend which contained a bath ballistic and a soap.  I'd been looking for some really natural products for a while, and after reading the little "What's In My Gift" paper I thought that Lush might just be what I had been searching for.

Needless to say I ADORED my bath ballistic and my soap, and I've also recently purchased some items for my face, in a hope to finally tackle my oily skin.  The Coalface cleansing bar, the Vanishing Cream and the Herbalism cleanser are great!!

I think I'm a bit of a Lush addict, albeit a "newbie".  Looking forward to trying more stuff!! :)

Question.

Hello all!

I'm new to the community and also a lush newbie sort of...
I discovered Lush by recommendation of a friend. I suppose the gift card that came with that didn't hurt any either. :-)
Anyway, my uses of their products have been limited to shower gels and jellies, shampoo and conditioner, and Sympathy for the skin. :-D
I tried Lush in the middle of summer, so baths involving a nice soak in the tub were out of the question with temps in the 100's. LOL!
so, I am a bath bomb/bath melt/bubble bar virgin.
My questions:
I'm sure this is a preference thing, but I'm curious anyway. do you all tend to prefer bath melts used with a bath bomb or by themselves? Or, is either a bath bomb or bubble bar in the tub enough?
Also, (and again, I totally get that everyone's body will react differently to stuff,) but I'm curious anyway: I've noticed that the holiday line of products seems to have (some of them) cinnamon and/or ginger in them. I have never had a reaction to any bath or shower products, but I've also heard that those particular things can cause them; and honestly, I've never used a product to my knowledge that contained cinnamon or ginger; or come to think of it, cloves. (I think if I remember what I read, that Karma contains those...)
I'm wondering if any of you have had reactions to any of these ingredients in the lush bath products? BTW: I did look through the tags before asking this question, and I might have missed something, but I didn't see anything specifically related to this.

thanks much!

So wait...

Bubbling/foaming bath bombs make bubbles? And you shouldn't use them in a foot bath? Oh.

BATH BOMB REVIEWS!

I went to the Lush store in Salem, NH on Saturday, while I was there visiting my boyfriend. Gotta love New Hampshire and their lack of sales tax! I should've bought more than this, but we were in a rush! So, I just picked up a Twilight bath bomb, a Sex Bomb bath bomb, and a Mrs. Whippy bath bomb.

I came home on Sunday, and then on Monday my Lush-loving Momma and I went to our local Lush store here in CT to see the rest of the Christmas products that we had yet to buy or smell... We both bought a bunch of stuff there, too... Including the So White Bath Bomb, which I'm IN LOVE with the scent of. I hope I still love it when I actually use it.

I'm working on getting my list of products to buy/try down, so I can just keep up a stock of what I really love and use regularly. I have mostly bath bombs, bubble bars, and bath melts left to try, but I have way too many right now that I need to use up before I can continue working on that list!

Any thoughts from you guys on any of those??? I'm still waiting to find a go-to bath bomb, other than Butterball...

Hey yall! My friends and I went to the Lush store in Las Vegas today and - horror of all horrors - they were out of Big shampoo, which was the main thing one of my friends wanted.

I remember when I was in Orlando they gave me their info and said they offered free shipping. Does anyone know if a purchase minimum is required for that or can she just call them up & order a jar of Big?

Also, I got one of each of the newest bath bombs today and they all smell so yummy! I thought the Twilight one smelled amazing. I wish our hotel had a bathtub & not just a shower because I'd try it out right now. I really like the more fruity and floral ones. I got a nice big sample of a face wash too. Suddenly I can't remember the name but its green & has almonds in it. She said it would be good since I've turned 30 & my skin still feels the need to break out occasionally!

Finally, does anyone remember the name of the massage bar that has a purple design (maybe flowers?) on it? I thought it smelled awesome then I forgot to pick it up!!

PS. I think I updated all the tags but my Blackberry is weird & sometimes doesn't. If not I apologize. I'll look again when I get home.

Mini Personal Reviews: Ultra-light, Space Girl, Lovely Jubblies, etc...

Hey Lushies! :)

Since I live in Oklahoma which has no LUSH to claim for its own (yet, boohoo) I made sure to visit them as much as I could during my recent visit to San Francisco last week! It still amazes me that a city can have TWO LUSH locations...sigh, them San Franciscans are spoiled ;P

Anyway, while I was there I was able to get some products I've been meaning to try out as well as get some of the usuals (such as: Honey Trap, Alkmaar soap, face toner, and some shower gel). What I managed to get and/or try out that was new for me were a few really cool things!

Space Girl: This ballistic makes such pretty sparkly water! It's light on color (only produced a slight lavender shade) but the shimmer in the water was a nice touch. It is also very fragrant and smelled great! The ballistics I have tried beforehand were disappointing in this regard (such as Sex Bomb and Vanilla Fountain) so it was exciting to finally find a bath bomb that can pack a potent smell in the tub. Recommended.

Ultralight: I only got a sample of this stuff and so far I enjoy it. It's light on my face (duh), lacks any fragrance and since my skin is blissfully problem-free I don't need much maintenance besides cleaning every day (which is done mostly by my face toner). I typically don't use any moisturizers or cleansers on my face but I can easily see myself incorporating Ultralight into my daily regimen. The only downside I've found so far is that living in a place that reaches around 100 degrees F doesn't mesh well with a face that's recently been moisturized lol. Sweat is my enemy!

Lovely Jubblies: Another sample I received. This stuff smells wonderful; reminds me a bit of gardenia but with other scents as well. The cream itself is slightly thick but easy to smooth over the skin and absorbs quick enough. I've used it for two days and haven't noticed anything, haha, but maybe in the week or so to come I will :P But the smell...mmm, I wish I got a whole pot; I'd use it as a regular lotion if I could.

Mini Lotion Pots: Such a cool idea! Now you can carry little pots of Dream Cream, Karma Kream and Creme Anglaise in your pocket! I got one of each and gave Karma to my mom. I'd recommend these to those who want to carry some hand lotion on hand in their bags; they're a little too small to use as travel sizes I think (unless you wanna go through the whole little pot or two anyway).

Silky Underwear: I was ALMOST sold on this, however I never use powders of any kind. It's light on smell, has no talc (which makes it acceptable to use on your lady bits), and really makes your skin super soft in conjunction with a lotion (such as Vanilla Deelite). My mom purchased some instead so I may have to snag it from her from time to time~

Bon Bon review
midgelidge

Hi all!

In my last UK order, I ordered quite a few bombs I was excited to try. The one I was most excited about trying was Bon Bon since it was described as "Butterballs bouncier little brother" (it actually says that on the NA site). I saved it for a night after a long shift at work so I could fully relax in the bath.

I got in and dropped Bon Bon in and it made a "thunk" and never came back up to fizz around my tub. Most of the bombs I've tried have always surfaced and fizzed around the tub. It stayed right on the bottom of the tub and all you could see were these little yellow balls floating to the surface. It looked like styrofoam balls actually. I picked it up and inspected it. The small bits were melting when I touched them but they felt really greasy and gross on my hand. I let the bomb finish, and sat in the tub for a while longer. I could see the yellow balls sticking to the side of the tub where the water line was as I was sitting there. I knew I was in for a cleaning when I got out just by the way the water felt and how it was looking on the sides of the tub.

When i got out the floor was so slippery and the sides of the tub looked so dirty and yellow from the little balls. I had to scrub the tub down after my bath (which was not on my list of things to do to relax!). I was not impressed with Bon Bon at all. It didn't smell good in the tub, it made my skin feel really greasy and I actually had to shower before I got out. I had no idea the bomb would be like that otherwise I wouldn't have ordered it.

These are the questions I always ask myself and answer when I review a product! (Although I think this may be my first review here.)

Would I buy it again? No.
Did I like it? Not really, but outside the tub it smelled really nice.
Would I reccomend this to anyone? Only if it was something they were really willing to try, and didn't mind a little clean up after.
Do I feel like I wasted my money? No! Every product from Lush is worth trying at one time or another. How else would we be able to give reviews to others if we didn't know our products! :)
