Curly Wurly - pieces of coconut are the devil
collared
itsyspy70
I purchased a tub of Curly Wurly in early July, and eventually exchanged it for a chunk of Trichomania, not because I didn't like the smell or what it did to my hair, but because those little coconut pieces? Holy jeez I could not get them all out of my hair.

It's pretty thick, and curly/wavy and without taking 30 minutes just to rinse my hair, I could not get all those little pieces of coconut out of my hair, so it looked like I had big chunky dandruff.

Has anyone had any luck with perhaps running Curly Wurly through a sieve? I like the trichomania, but honestly prefer liquid/non-solid shampoos.

New Haircare!

Whooot! This isn't anything secret, they can all be found on the UK site. Lush will be launching some new haircare items! A few highlights:

Big solid conditioner (awesome for the same people that love Big or Seanik), love the smell instead of jungle!

Several products made for COLOR TREATED HAIR. Oh yes. Designed not to strip colors or make them fade faster.

A split end balm.

A hair spray! What?! I KNOW.

If we happen to get a chance to play around with them, I will let you guys know how they did!

Shampoo Help

I'm hoping some lushies can help me out with this. So, I have been alternating between using my left over Ibiza Party shampoo (why did you take this away from me Lush?) and new! shampoo bar both of which worked very well for my somewhat thin and oily hair. I recently got blonde highlights put in for the first time. While my hair now feels drier than I'm used to after having just been washed with either of these shampoos, my hair is also getting oilier more quickly and it looks very weighted down even on the first day I shampoo it. It used to be that I could go 2-3 days between shampoos (a first after having switched to Lush products a few years ago) and now I feel the need to shampoo every day.

So, my question is, are these shampoos just drying my hair out too much post-highlights causing it to overproduce oil or is there something else going on? What shampoo would you recommend for me? I've been debating buying Marilyn for my hair which I used occasionally in the past and just doing hair treatments more often. I've also considered replacing American Cream (which I only use on the ends of my hair) with Veganese and using that on my scalp with the hopes that it won't get weighted down too much by the conditioner. Do you think any of these measures might help or work better/worse than switching shampoos?

Daddy-O Liquid Shampoo
Tea Butterflies

These past two days I've been using a sample of the Daddy-O liquid shampoo which I got with my purchase on Saturday.  I think it was made for just one wash but as I have quite short hair it has fairly served for 2, and I still have some left.

It's the first time I've ever tried a shampoo by Lush.  After falling in love with the violet fragrance, I found out from the Lush Times that it is for blonde hair.  My hair is brown but I do have blonde highlights at the front which are beginning to grow out.

Either way, the shampoo is lovely!  It's like showering in a field full of flowers.  Mmmm :)

Daddy-o on henna-dyed hair? Any other shampoo suggestions?

I LOVE the scent of Bathos, so when I heard a shampoo had it's scent I was intrigued.  I should have asked here first but after reading some of the reviews I was curious so bought the small bottle online--maybe not a good idea but we shall see.  I'm also open to other suggestions.

I heard it can lighten hair a little, which would be awesome as the last full-head henna I did came out a bit darker than I expected--it was during the summer and the heat made a difference!  Still looks great but I fear how dark it will go when I add yet another layer in the spring--doing the roots is alright, but the color dulls a little bit after 6 or so months on the ends.  I am concerned about what it might do to the henna, but there are redheads in the reviews hat say it's fine and honestly henna is resilient--my hair is permanent red XD.  If anyone has any horror stories though...I'd like to hear 'em.

Is it as good for oily hair as some of the reviews suggest?  Some of them seemed pretty contradictory to one another.

Hello Lush lovers! I have been wanting Lush products for a while, and I finally purchased a big Buffy for myself. I absolutely love it and wish I would have bought one sooner. Now I'm interested in getting some shampoo and conditioner, and I would like your input on the ones that would be best for me.

My hair is thick, dry and prone to frizzyness. I would like something that will help moisturize and possibly flatten my hair, so it's not so poofy. I don't use any type of heat on my hair (no blow dryers, curling irons, etc) but I do color it from time to time (maybe once every 6 months or so). It is a little longer than shoulder length, with layers.

I'm open to both liquid and solid shampoo/conditioner. Thank you all so much in advance!

Camping

Hi! I've been following the community for a while, but this is my first post. :)

I have what's probably a pretty silly question. I'm going camping in just under 3 weeks to a lake. I use Squeaky Green shampoo which I am absolutely addicted to. I was just wondering if it was okay to use it to wash my hair in the lake? I don't want to cause any harm to the lake or anything in it. It is 100% natural, right? Even though I know that, I wanted to get the opinion of others to make sure. Silly question, I know.

Thanks in advance!

New haircare routine

Okay, so I'm usually pretty low-maintenence when it comes to my hair...I have a very short pixie haircut, i do color it dark brownish red but I don't get terrible roots so I don't even color it that much. I currently use Cynthia Sylvia Stout and Veganese or Retread. However, after a year of rockin the pixie, I'm wanting to grow it out. I'm wondering about anybody's personal experiences with New! shampoo. I realize that nothing is magically going to make my hair grow faster, but when you used it, did you notice any difference? My hair isnt really terribly thick or fine, has a slight wave, and can get a little dry sometimes, but its health has improved ALOT after having years and years of hairdye on top of it and then chopping it all off. What conditioner do you think would work with New! and my hair type? Do any of the hair treatments or any other products help with growth? Mind you, I am not looking to have long flowing locks, I'm just wanting to grow it out to a longish pixie/bob type thing that I had before...maybe 3 or 4 inches of growth. Short-term goals here, otherwise I will die of impatience. Thanks for your help!!

do you guys find that new shampoo fades your hair color? when my hair was red it seemed to fade a lot faster using new than when i use my l'oreal everpure. i'm dying my hair back to my natural color soon and i wanted to buy new to speed up the growth (it really worked well for me before) but i don't want my hair to go back to this nasty brassy color i have right now.

or are there any other pucks that are good for color treated hair? i'm going on two trips soon that the pucks would be really convenient for.

I bought Godiva shampoo two weeks ago because my New! was getting thin to breaking point. But it looks like I'll still have New! for quite a while before I need to break out Godiva. How long can Godiva last before it loses its awesome scent? It's in the bag FTM.
