... but instead I wrote 2400 words of Neville/Luna fic. I was hankering for some hurt/comfort, so instead of looking for it, I just killed off Luna's dad and had her go see Neville at Hogwarts (it takes place when they're in their 30's). Not sure if I'll ever post it, since I don't think it's that good, but it was fun. I'll probably continue it tomorrow, since I've already written the fact that Neville has a bit of a thing for Luna, like he does in most of my fics. Seeing a pattern yet, people?
Anyway, I think I really am off to bed tonight. I just felt like sharing.
It's Neville/Luna, rated R, and it's just stunning. It's a story (a long one, but a worthwhile one) about Luna coming back to visit Neville every winter. Go read it.
Sorry to those of you who have seen this three times already, but I tend to be a pimp when it comes to my fics. XD So, yeah, FIC TIME!
Title: The Touch of Your Hand Author:mosaic Prompt:govt_stole_toad's Wands of the Wood Challenge: Apple – The apple tree represents youth, beauty, and love. It features in most major myths as the fruit that keeps the gods young/immortal. Its juice can be used to infer strength and beauty. It is commonly used for spells regarding love and healing. Rating: PG Warning: DH-compliant (except for the part where Neville and Luna are together, of course), minor spoilers Genre: Romance/Fluff Word Count: ~2700 Summary: "Neville jumped a little at the sound of the door opening. He hadn't been expecting anyone to come by this late at night, but he smiled when he heard Luna's soft voice lilting toward him." Author’s Notes: While writing this, I learned that British "cider" is a fermented, alcoholic drink. In America, though, cider is nonalcoholic and that is what I mean here. If there is a British term for what I describe in my fic, please tell me and I'll change it. Thanks to slytherin_face for the beta/advice. Concrit welcome!
Title: Je T'aime Pairing: Neville/Luna Rating: Light R Warnings: Takes place during DH, CONTAINS SPOILERS, Fluff/romance, outdoor sex (not exhibitionist) Word Count: ~5800 Summary: Sometimes the Room of Requirement knows what you need more that you do. Author's Notes: Written for the Neville FQF at nevillosity. This is my first post-DH fic, so if you squint you might pick up on a few of my impressions of the book. Thanks to worri for supplying the opening joke. Also, this ended up WAY less smutty than it was intended to be, but I love it and loved writing it, so there you go.
Cross posted. My apologies if you've been spammed.
Both of these drabbles were written for govt_stole_toad's February Drabble Challenge.
Title: He Likes You Author: mosaic Prompt: Trevor Rating: G Warning: Not really a warning, but this came out as borderline gen. You can see the romantic undertones if you squint. Author’s Notes: Another one of my longish drabbles that didn't want to stay under 500 words. *shakes fist* Partly inspired by this lovely sketch by lberghol.
Title: Safe Together Author: mosaic Prompt: Knockturn Alley Rating: G Warning: None Author’s Notes: 181 words. "Thanis" is a derivation of the Greek word for death.
What's been going on with me, you ask? Well, pull up a chair and have a cup of *insert your favorite hot beverage here*! I'll tell you.
It's been a pretty crazy week so far. I've had an 8 hour day, a 7 hour day, and an 8 hour day back to back to back. Now, those "hours" are when I'm on campus or at work. And I'm not used to that, since I usually skip my early morning class on Tuesdays and Thursdays. But this week (today, actually) I had a midterm in the class (Chemistry), so I had to go. Boooo. Plus side: I found out just now that I got a 33/40 on my midterm! That's an 82%, which for me in science is awesome. *not a scientist* (Just found out that the midterm is worth 40% of my grade! That's intense... Glad I didn't fail!)
In other good news, I got an A on my first Lit/Film paper! That's more my field. *huggles Literature... yes, all the Literature in the world*
I got 7 (yes, 7) exercise DVDs in the mail on Tuesday. I did a Brazilian dance one that was really fun, and I watched through at least part of all the other ones to get a feel for them. Lemme tell you, 90s jazz dance with people who can't act... is bad. Not even so bad it's funny.. just plain ol' bad. *shudders* Dunno if I'll use that one much, but the stretches are really good.
Still slowly working my way through GoF and Out of the Silent Planet. I keep the books with me and read whenever I have a few spare minutes. That reminds me... I need to update my 2007 reading list.
Oh, and I posted a Neville/Luna drabble today! Read it here.
How have you guys been? Still alive, I hope!

1. Take your OTP. 2. List your personal canon for those characters. So the stuff that has nothing whatsoever to do with the books, but in your head is irrefutably what would have happened.
Beware the insanely random order. I thought of these in a strange order and I didn't feel like continually rearranging them.
I'm at school, in the library, so I can't squee at the top of my lung like I want to, but I'm dying over here. When I first saw that picture, I had to bite my knuckle really hard so that I wouldn't scream. I'm not even exaggerating. I was hyperventilating too.
Once the Neville pictures come out, you WILL be bombarded by Nevuna manips.
