ET-01 is the first satellite mission of EarthTraq, a U.S. startup based in San Carlos, California. The mission consists of four small satellites launched aboard SpaceX's Transporter-17 rideshare mission to demonstrate a commercial alternative Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) system complementary to GPS.

EarthTraq is developing a low-cost satellite constellation designed to provide resilient PNT services and global asset tracking. The system is intended to complement existing Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) by offering a simpler, more secure, and lower-power solution for positioning, navigation, and timing applications, particularly in environments where GPS signals are degraded or unavailable.

Each ET-01 satellite carries the Luna-R1 artificial intelligence processor developed by Mentium Technologies, enabling onboard data processing and autonomous operation. The mission represents the first deployment of the Luna-R1 chip across multiple satellites. ET-01 was supported by NASA through its Small Spacecraft Technology and Distributed Systems programs, which promote innovative technologies for distributed spacecraft architectures.
