love actually

Hullo!

I'm at Christina's house right now. It's been three hours since the end of Love Actually EGAD!! I loved that movie so much. It was absolutely brilliant and lovely and... eehehehe!!

My goal in life is to look like ermm... Natalie. ehehe, so cute!! i'm almost there, just need to look prettier and comb my bangs in the opposite direction. (which is the original way i combed them till i thought they looked odd. they still look odd. I did this weird thing with them where i cut the ends of them shorter and... yeah. basically I have to wait for them to grow out a bit before i trim them properly. )

ANYWAY!

Mistar Gable, thank you so much for relieving me of the agony of looking for a date for Mabel's partay. He's decided that we're performing the field show one last time on December fifth for our parents and such.

On a much better note, now that i know for sure that all my good friends are going:

This spring break is going to be the best

ever.

First off, i shall have spent the week before touring the nation's capital with Mr. Chavez's government class.

ehee, then like... two days after i come back from that trip, on April first, I shall be off again....

with the band...

and we're going

to

NEW YORK!!!!

I DON'T WANT TO!!!

eeheheheh!!!

XD

okay, kay

Adrien Brody ♥ 's Christina

happy now?!

we told him it would be cancelled...

ehe! Yesterday was a very... interesting Halloween.

First off: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MABEL!! ^__^

Costumes! Eee, everyone had such neat-o costumes. Especially Carol. Her costume rocked. She dressed up as the milk carton from that Blur video... I've got a picture of it Christina sent me last night...

( Carol's Costume!Collapse )

KEVIN! XD Oh gosh! He started the day as a random wizard with bad hair, slowly progressed (somehow) into being Sirius Black, and finally, with the help of baby powder in his hair, he ended the day as Remus Lupin. eeee!! :D

( an asain band geek RemusCollapse )

Elaine's costume was adorable! She looked so cuuuute! ^__^ She was a mime, and she didn't say a word all day. After she washed off her makeup, she walked around the bandroom mumbling random gibberish! "blahblahblahbleehblalakhblasdfblosdabledfj!" hehee!

It rained after school. It started sprinkling some during the brass sectionals, then it stopped.

Then it started again.

Then... I dunno what happened because we all took comfort in the band room, watching The Joy Luck Club which Johnathan was carrying around with him for some reason. Eee, and Mommy brought me hot chocolate when she went to talk to Mr. Chavez. Tres good! About an hour or so before the movie ended, we decided unanimously, for some odd reason, to start dressing early, waaay before call time. We should not have done that.

Were we early down to the field? I don't really know... I don't even know if waiting until six to put on our uniforms would have saved us, but anyway, as we got to the field, it started raining. Not sprinkling, raining.
Uniforms: wet.
Plumes: wet
Instruments: so wet it's not even funny.

We took cover, or tired to, by the trees that run behind the tennis courts, and then Kevin came to us with this pained looking smile to tell us that we could all just get our stuff and walk back to the band room because Mr. Gable said we couldn't play in such conditions. Gosh, REALLY?!

I don't know why... I was just sooo angry at him, getting to drive back in his warm, DRY, car with his REGULAR clothes on, and his precious sax stored safely in its case in the band room where it was DRY, that I glared at him when he tried to be funny and pretended to wipe his wet hands on my sweater. >__< NO!

gaah.

Oh well.

I'm feeling surprisingly well after the large amount of candy I ate last night. All during yestreday, actually. Mind said: Stop! you're not even hungry! Stomach/taste buds said: No! 'Tis too deliciously sweet! So I ate, and ate, and then almost got sick after I chased Christina through the halls trying to give her her money back. (She insists on paying my Mum for the gas money spent on giving her rides home, but its no trouble, really! We've almost adopted her, she shouldn't have to!) It was all good candy though. Except for that twinkie I got from Matt... why I ate that, I have no idea. Maybe because Matt is seldom that generous? Probably, because I hate Twinkies.
It's true. I have the worst headache in the world right now.

I want to take a nap, really I do... but I dunno what to do... I still haven't seen Gosford Park and I told Carol I'd give her back her DVD last Monday... whoops

Anywho, highlights from Band practice:

*much fun hearing the others tease Mistar Gable on Boston's defeat.

GO YANKEES!

*I'm being so mean to Garrett... hope it works and he can go back to talking to me as if i were just some random girl.

*The janitors at Keppel are so nice! heehee... I sent Matt to the ice cream vending machine, which, being the weekend and all, was locked. Not much of a problem for him since he's unbeleivably skinny, so he was going to try to sneak into the machine to get me ice cream, use my change, and get himself some ice cream. I stayed back on the bench talking to Elaine, Christina and Leanne, when we turn to look at Matt and see this janitor talking to him. o_O we thought, and I felt horrible, thinking I'd gotten the poor kid into trouble. but behold!! The janitor actually unlocked the machine for him and we all got ice cream. :D

*Kevin got all happy telling John about how Elaine and I posted two comments to his last entry within an hour. And they both were amazed that one of my entries got seventeen replies. Which entry, I wonder?

*Jason was barely on the second volume of Pride and Prejudice and he was a bit confused, and while we were waiting for everyone else to be set in their spots, he yelled at me from halfway across the field, asking about the plot, and I yelled back all the answers. heehee!

Jason: WHO'S THAT LADY CATHERINE?!
Me: SHE'S THAT LADY THAT COLLINS IS ALWAYS KISSING UP TO!
Jason: OHH...IS SHE RELATED TO THE BENNETS?!
Me: NO! NOT THE BENNETS, BUT SHE'S MR. DARCY'S AUNT!!

heehee, good times!

*Christina made me happy, in a very simple, insignificant little way. She had a book with her, some title along the lines of "a still life with a woodpecker"... i think. Anyway, she read a bit to Elaine and me and... I was hooked, first off, because the narrator was describing a full moon, and then he went on to say that:

"It was a full moon that could turn Little Red Riding Hood into the Big Bad Wolf"... and I just had to squeal.

^_^

okay now.

My well being now rests completely in the hands of Puccini and his Butterfly.

Kermits keep my feet warm

Today was the most horrid of parades. Unfortunately, I had to find out first hand how painful marking time for extended periods of time could be. I was in a very bad mood today... most of the day, anyway. This was not a very good morning because I woke up to find the lower lid of my right eye swollen to about three times its size. How exactly that happened, I have no idea. It irked me greatly to have my eye so ugly. The speech Kevin made this morning did not make matters any better. I am glad that some rules will be established, finally, but... it just bothered me. I also wish someone, someone with the power to do it, of course, would tell Pauline or whatever her name is, that no band geek is to wear makeup in uniform, and that if she wants to wear makeup in uniform she can go join drill team, goddamit.

Friday was a bit better... the football team lost horribly... Maria/Cool sucked... but before the game, Friday wasn't too bad a day.

Drama was quite, spontaneous. I was sitting calmly in my seat, ignoring most of the scenes because they sucked, and folding paper stars. Then I heard Ms. Burgin say: "Okay, after Bobby and Roxanne its... Samantha, and after Samantha, it's ... Mitzi." Holy sweet goddam! I'd just been thinking about how I was going to kneel at: "In token of which duty if he please/ my hand is ready may it do him ease." and hold out my left hand, which by Monday, would have had a fake gold band on it, but no! There would be time for no such nonsense! It didn't help that said Samantha's scene was quite short, and I was still afraid of stumbling when I came to: "I am ashamed that women are so simple..." I had to go, regardless... I was so nervous once I actually got on stage I forgot to bring the bench out... which I think was better because I now think Katheine would have said all this stuff on her feet... except of course, for when I kneeled at the end. Michelle really like it... I thought it was horrible, and I think the only thing that saved it from being complete shit was my accent. I keep going over my lines in my head... thinking of places where I could make my words sound more sarcastic... I shouldn't dwell on this. There's nothing I can do about it now. My lines have been delivered, and now I have only to recieve my grade.

I've noticed a change in me... I thought I'd made it a resolution for this school year to be nice, but instead I'm going in quite the opposite direction. Before, when I would find stupid idiots in my way in the halls I'd think of their stupidity. Now, I find myself speaking about it out loud, probably within their earshot, and I don't bother to lower my voice. Where before I would think: "Move, stupid," I now actually say it out loud. I think it's a side effect of being a senior.

I love Pride and Prejudice. Quite hilarious. I think Mr. Bennet is my favourite character right now. I do like Elizabeth, but not as much as her father. I like Mr. Darcy as well.

I should be working on my Clerk project for the Canterbury Tales... but if that woman doesn't even bother to mention Thomas Becket in her "informative" lecture on the time period, then I can't possibly take this seriously. And I'm certainly not going to take a group member seriously if she's in an "AP" English class and thinks secular means being associated with the church.

*le sigh*

I just had a Radiohead cookie, though. :)

mmmm... Radiohead...

So... was this the food/Radiohead themed birthday? I got a lot of food, and a Radiohead sticker from Lam... but this... this takes all...

( LOOK!! LOOK WHAT CAROL MADE FOR ME!!!Collapse )

*le sigh*

I had this whole entry planned about the fucktards in band... suffice it to say that Kevin rocks for telling them to shut up.

OOoh I'm with his group for the Econ business project! YEsss! No eejits for me!

Anywho, I was sorting through some old girly magazines of mine, specifically looking for Gwen pictures, because the more I see her as Tonks, the more I remember how fond I used to be of her and No Doubt... and how goddam Chris just killed it by having: "I met Gwen Stefani!!!" as the third sentence out of his mouth all the time.

Anywho... I want to cut my hair... short. Quite short. Short for me, anyway. I'd say about Elaine length... maybe a teensy bit longer... but that short. I was telling Garrett how much easier it would be for me to dye all of my hair pink if it were shorter, and he just looked so amused and yelled out: "Ahhh, TONKS!" And I thought... oh yeah... I do want to have my whole head one uniform color... but that may have to wait until after marching season is over 'cos... the pinkness would probably still show under my shako... and I don't think Mr. Gable would appreciate that.

Ooh, in band news, we're being paid to march this Saturday in Chinatown for a Chinese Independence Day parade. Heehee... according to Christine, we'll be celebrating China's becomming Communist. OOh and our uniforms are red.... how very quaint. I wonder, if ever pigs fly of course, if I were to someday run for some political office... could this be dug up and used against me?

heehee.

"Happy f*toot*ing birthday, Mitzi!"

^John said that as wer were standing around the field, waiting for people to be set for Maria/Cool. He and Lam picked up the habit of speaking into their saxophones, and while we were standing around, they started swearing into them, but instead of saying whatever swear-word they had in mind, the "bleeped" it out by playing a random note. heehee. Hilarious, those two.

Anywho... I'm 17 now. Hadn't really occured to me since... right now.

Band was awesome this year. Linda made me another paper crown and a sash. hee (I find the crown particularly funny because the homecoming assembly was on thrursday and I FINALLY got my "Senior" crown and I was so happy about it I told Glae, and she laughed at me, and the next day I get another crown. ^_^) Anyway, once I got to the band room, Johnathan gave me a little cake in Band's name. Yummy! I had it for lunch... ultra spiffy sponge cake and strawberry mousse from the Diamond Bakery.

Michelle made an impromptu card for me. "Happy Birfday" heehee. She spelled my name wrong... but she'd already spelled it: Mitsy in her first attempt, and I didn't have the heart to tell her that Mitzy wasn't right either.

Mabel gave me a party platter. Ohh yeah! Awesome lemon cupcakes and stale cheetos! I like stale cheetos, they get all chewy and yummy. ^_^

Lam .... LAM! HE WENT TO THE GODDAM RADIOHEAD SHOW! *cries* He got tickets for Thursday's concert... but he brought me back a realy spiffy sticker.

Best part, I think, was after the homecoming game (which we lost, surprise, surprise!) when everyone was back in the band room and all out of nowhere, while I was putting my shoes away in my locker everyone in the room started singing- quite loudly. ^__^

Oh yes, and it was my mum's birthday as well... but she gets all mean and snarky about it.

Saturday was... exhausting. Fun, but exhausting. We got to sit around a lot while Mr. Gable re-set almost everyone for Maria/Cool.

CHRISTINA ROCKS MY EFFIN SOCKS!!

She gave me a large supply of Korean snacks! I got two little bags of Korean Cheetos (they're honestly cheetos, the cheetah thing is on the bag), and a huge ass bag of my favorite shrimp crackers!! They look more like frozen fries, but *shurg* they taste awesome! She gave me another bag of some other snack... oh and a little Wonderbread sandwich container. ^_^

My cake this year rocks. Hazelnut icing... *drools* and it's all chocolate... so damn good! I want some right now! It's like... a Mozart ball made cake... sans marzipan center, unfortunately.

HOLY SHIT I DON'T KNOW MY MONOLOUGE FOR TOMORROW!!

-_-

I need some cake.

Now.

Mambo...?

hmm.

I had a really nifty entry planned... but I forgot most of it.

Highlights:

*In the set for Maria/Cool, there's this part where we all move into this oval shape. In order to reach my spot, I have to pass in front of Pat, and since I'm walking backwards, there's a good chance I could crash into him and his tuba. The first time I walked by him, he talked into his tuba: "No, Mitzi, No!" and he sounded so much like Mrs. Puff from Spongebob that I just burst out laughing. Second time, he yelled my name into the Tuba again and it took me by surprise so I screamed and squeaked, much to the amusement of the band.

*The moon was absolutely gorgeous last night when it was rising during the football game... all lovely and dark and orange. ^_^

*Friend Eric went to the game!! Awesomeness!! I miss having him as my locker buddy in Band. :(

*Friday at lunch, I sat with the band geeks again and Chris played Johnny B. Goode again and I sang. All of it, this time. :D

*That horribly overracted version of Oedipus Rex was scary as hell. Well, the masks were anyway.

*Must buy iPod.

Ooh, my birthday shall be in a fortnight. I look forward to it. :D

Oh yeah! Snogs to Mabel for getting the yearbook a decent theme! you rock. ^__^

I can't write under these... er... conditions.

It says "Liverpool"!

Today went from being unbearably painful, to completely awesome.

I woke up at 7:00 for some odd reason, but I was able to snooze some more before my alarm went off. I got up pretty early, but I just took my time getting dressed, which annoyed my mother. Anyway, as we arrived at the west gate, we see that all these band geeks are outside the gate, just standing around, and that Christina is pacing around under a tree. The gate wasn't open... on time... but that wasn't the worst part of today. The upper field next to the tennis courts was being used by these little kids playing football. Then we're told that the football field was being used by little kids too... so off we go, shoved to the back, the very end of Keppel onto that weird baseball field behind the stadium.

It was horrible. There was a part of the field with an amazingly large amount of dried grass just rolling around... I tried entertaining myself later on by making a little house and a fence for it out of grass, but Kevin came by and ruined my house when he lumped it all together to use it as a marker for me. : ( Anywho, block was horrible. Kevin got all confusing and snarky, and, to make matters worse, I was standing next to blasted Karen. gaah! The girl cannot dress to save her life! (And, when I say "dress," for any non band geeks who might be reading my journal, I don't mean her clothes. I mean she can't line up properly to whoever she's supposed to be adjusting, so the line gets all crooked.) *sigh* it was horrible. Everyone was annoyed at having to be shoved all the way to the back of the school... and very hot. I do believe it was around eighty some degrees when my mom was driving me to the school. Quite frankly, that whole ordeal of having to march outside in the sun was completely in vain, since we didn't even review all of the movements for "Mambo," and besides, we were on extremely crappy grass that squished beneath our feet and was much too long for comfort.

The day got better when we walked back to the band room. Christina showed up to practice and quickly realised that Mr. Gable had tricked her into joining marching band. He only said she was going to play the drum set on a few songs, but, obviously since Percussion doesn't bring out all their field show stuff with them to the field while we practice, they wore their regular bass drums, snares and quad. Haha! Poor Christina! She had no idea how she got stuck with a snare harnessed to her!

Anywho, lunch was much fun. I sat around with Garrett and tried to talk. Everyone else has this strange tendency to gravitate towards the percussion side of the room and try to play every single instrument at the same time. Quite noisy. Then Shan, Jarissa, and Christina came and sat with us and we talked about sex... sex ed, i think. quite... hilarious, to be truthful, because I never imagined Shan saying, "genitals."

Music rehearsal was much better. We hardly played since Percussion got to try out their new parts. No offense, but it sounded like just a bunch of little kids hitting random instruments at the same time. In the beginning, anyway. They got much better later on.

After rehearsal, and after trying to convince Christina to stay in band because we luuuurved her, *giggle* I told her my dad could give her a ride home since she'd missed her bus. Anywho, she got in the car and asked if I wanted to go to Pasadena with her. Well, of course! We had some difficulties because we dropped her off at home and I went home and took a shower and when I called her she had taken a nap and didn't answer her phone which lead me to believe she left without me. We ended up having my parents drive us to Barnes and Noble because they were going to Target to get some stuff for my brother.

Our mission started out as:

1. Buy two copies of Pride and Prejudice
2. browse around stores.

Unfortunately, many things went wrong with our plan. Ok, just one big thing. Barnes and Noble only had one, ONE copy of Pride and Prejudice. What kind of book store is this?! We're talking Jane Austen, here... gaah. So I bought it along with (another) wonderful Harry Potter calendar. ^_^ From there, we went to Urban Outfitters. Egad! That store is the shiznit! Everything costs a ridiculously high amount of money, but you can get ideas for what to do with your old clothes in there. For example, I shall be taking my old black concert blouse and using white satiny ribbon to make it purdy again. I am also dragging my parents there next weekend to get this gorgeous black jacket with white stripes down the sleaves and "Liverpool" embroidered all loverly-like on the chest. ^_^ I want the "Mr. Sparkle" shirt too, because I've never seen a Simpson's shirt that has that well-known logo on it. I spent most of my money in there on two pairs of fantastic earrings. The first pair I bought was $8, and they were little, tiny oval shaped cameos. (fake, obviously) So cute! And I also got these... oh god, these... BITCHING (there is no other word for them, honestly) earrings for $12. They are honestly just, completely awesome. They're these black, round plastic disk thingies with blue rhinestones sprkinled about. Ahh. that description does them no justice. Hmm... I might try to commandeer my mum or dad's phone to take a picture of them... because they're just so friggin cool.

All in all, good times. Oh, and I sold my book to Christina, mainly because it's going to take her longer to read the book.

*sigh*

Here ends a long, but much needed, post.

3:27, eh?

*shrug*

I'll go to sleep... eventually.

:D

all I need is a ginger cat...

I think...

I may be turning into Hermione.

3 pages... almost four, on Bush's cabinet.

>_< It was tres painful.

Oh, and speaking of French, we have 5 textbooks now, all quite skinny, plus the rouge text. *sigh* She's trying. I'm very glad... and quite pleased that I didn't forget imparfait completely.

Anywho, people to thank for making the week a bit better:

+ Christina for just being... Christina! ^_^

Oy, we have saturday rehearsals... at least we don't have away games anymore, so I can get home early to either rp or catch up on reading.

By the way, these will be the novels we'll have to read on our own for English:

Pride and Prejudice . Jane Austen
Silas Marner . Elliot
Jane Eyre . Charlotte Bronte (6 weeks rest for me. ^_^)
Summer . Wharton
Martin Eden . London
Moon and Sixpence . Maugham
Their Eyes Were Watching God . Hurston

tired.

Miss Brown hasn't changed... >_< Agendas again... oh, blast the woman!

In walked.... the goddam lapdog.

>_<

At least I sit next to Krystal's sister. She's one of the nicest, coolest freshmen I've met. Her sister could be painfully annoying in band sometimes, but... Michelle is it? Ah well, she's really spiffy. She saw me scribling random thoughts on how many people in drama piss me off, and we got started talking about LiveJournal and writing stories. Much fun. ahh, I bragged about my lj background. So happy she didn't laugh or look at me all funny when I told her I was a complete Harry Potter geek.

So she's the good freshman.

The bad freshmen are in band... oh god... so many... she plays BASS CLARINET! uncool! She sucks!

Is it just me or are the freshmen getting dumber every year?

And what's the deal with that little midget in THIRD year French? Isn't he a sophomore? (Can that class get any louder?) My comfort is that Tim is going to sign out of there... no more "God Loves You" on my Euros!

I am stuck on one side of the buliding... I don't really mind... it's just boring. I'll get bored quickly, I know it. No Science hall, no math hall... hurray!

How is it that Chris got into American Governtment AP, and Suzy got into that and Econ?

Has the world gone mad?

Concert band tomorrow! I get to play Adelaide again! woot!

much happier now. ^_^

EDIT: As of today, there are 24 days until my birthday. ^_^
