Austen saved the day

^ most people didn't see the last entry I wrote... but this is relevant towards it.

Earlier this week, I felt absolutely horrible for being so mean, so rude, just... being such a goddam elitist and feeling really guilty because I couldn't stand certain people.

Wednesday, or thereabouts, I was sitting in band, bored out of my mind because Concert Band has become more of a chore than a joy... but anyway, I was reading Pride and Prejudice in there, and I found great comfort in the words of Elizabeth Bennet to Jane:

"There are few people whom I really love, and still fewer of whom I think well. The more I see of the world, the more am I dissatisfied with it; and every day confrims my belief of the inconsistency of all human characters, and of the little dependence that can be placed on the appearace of either merit or sense."

I don't feel so bad, having read that... as if knowing that a fictional character was enough justification for not liking every goddam person I meet. Mr. Doering said it too, though. He told us that while he tended to like all his students, he only liked ten percent of the people he met.

I don't have to like veryone...

I don't have to be mean to... well... to that... girl I had to work with- oh to hell with it! It's my fucking journal I'll write what i please!! I don't have to be mean to Shan... even though she did manage to piss me off royally yesterday when she ended our Clerk presentation on a horrible note by just randomly spewing out words that were somehow supposed to connect Aristotle to the Magna Carta... she may have had a fair point, but it was really hard to pay attention to her. By the looks Linda and Miss Brown were giving her, I'm probably not the only one who thought along those lines. I think what really bothered me about her little impromptu speech was that it made no goddam sense, and she just could not, for the life of her, connect any of her ideas.

It feels horribly mean to say it... but I'm thinking it, and I might as well write it, or I'll never be able to forgive myself: no wonder she got a 2...

ANYWHO!

Man... how about them SATs?

Guh... I'm so utterly stupid. The Verbal section seemed a million times harder... I left so many analogies blank, instead of the ONE analogy I didn't answer last time...
I'm going to die.

Goddam... Viet took his test at Blair too... same room, even. So he obviously had a chance to talk to me and tell me we were going to meet today... and I told him I was going to have people over... which, isn't true. Not my fault! Mom told me Jackie was coming over TODAY, and now she tells me she's coming over tomorrow. Uncool, Mom. Uncool.

OOooh, Jazz Band's started. Very, very, very happy.

One last thing:

*shakes fist at Keppel's custodians/gardeners/whatever!*
CURSE YOU!! CURSE YOU FOR TAKING THE BAND TABLES!!!!

*sigh*

Nevermind, not done yet... It's just... shameful, I think, how horribly disjointed these entries of mine have become. I'm not really saying anything beyond what I'm thinking. Share Circle used to occupy this journal's place. I remember that during the whole week I'd think in terms of what I was going to say at PC. Now, well... since I got this journal, really, I've been thinking in terms of what I'm going to write, what I'll make private, what I'm going to rant about, really. My Tonks entries have more substance than this, honestly! (Then again, being engaged to a werewolf would add variety to anyone's life, wouldn't it?)
I have no idea what I wanted to say... something along the lines that I think so much beforehand, that by the time I get to actually writing in this thing, I can't really think of anything, either because I've already meditated over whatever's bothering me, or because I've already thought about it... I think.

Oh! I remember what I wanted to do now...

Question to all the Harry Potter fans reading my journal who have already read OotP:
Was Chapter 1 really that boring?

I didn't think it was boring at all... or is it just that these people have short attention spans? hmmph.

Ah non... I have an essay to write for french. goddam.

.....

He won.

The nazi won.

fuck you california

Fuck you, fucking FUCKTARDS of this GODDAM STATE!

I need to get out of here NOW.

Bless Richmond for being in London, Columbia for being in New York, St. John's for being in New Mexico...

Today was supposed to be a good day. Jazz band days are always good. And this year we're going to have two tenors that can actually play. (Lam and John.) Not that Linda couldn't play but... who was our other tenor last year? meh.

Leah and Mary left...

goddam.

My only comfort right now is Remus and Tonks' wedding... and the possibility of my Flame colored Game Boy Advance sp. :)

Hey.... if he won the election....

do I still get my $1000 scholarship thingy? Or will he do away with that completely?

*sigh*

success

Bless them.

Thank god or whoever/whatever runs this universe for making the people who work at Keppel (in the subtle words of my beloved Frank McCourt) feckin eejits.

I went to register today, I paid for everything that needed to be paid, and (after an embarassing episode that I'll explain later), I went outside to get my sample schedule.

Surprise, surprise they made a goddam mistake on it this year too! I didn't have a 6th period. What the hell? I signed up for six classes... gaah! What the hell is wrong with these counselors? They have shit for brains, thats what. I think It goes beyond Herrera's explanation of their ties cutting of the circulation to their brains. Not only that, but I had English for fourth period with Estrada. bleergh!

I went home and I told my mom what the idiots had done to my schedule, and then we went back to school to try to get them to fix it. It was just like last year where they had us waiting in lunch benches outside the back entrance to the guidance office. I didn't even see Dr. Cinke, since Mr. Yamanaka decided to help her out because it would seem that all the mistakes were made on schedules of students under her "care". So my mom and I walk into his office, and once I tell him I'm missing my Calculus AB AP class, he begins with the classic: "5 APs is too much!" Technically, I'm taking 4, because I highly doubt Mademoiselle's ability to run any class like an AP class. Not that that's an insult, she's just too damn nice. Anyway, he said I really didn't need to take a math class because I probably had enough credits to graduate, right? Wrong. I still needed a speech class, so he suggested... a certain class, which I will be taking. ::grin:: I signed out of Contemporary Themes and into Band, and that made my English class change so...

My sample schedule for next year looks like:

1. Drama 1 ::SQUEEEEEAAAAALL!!!:: Ms. Burgin
2. American Government AP Mr. Chavez
3. French Language AP Mademoiselle Verner
4. Band Mr. Gable
5. Economics AP Mr. Chavez
6. English Literature and Composition AP MISS BROWN!!!!!
7. Jazz Band Mr. Gable

YESSS!!

NO MOTHERFUCKING MATH!!!

and Drama. Do you people have any idea how long I've wanted to take drama?!

Too bad Mr. Avatefi isn't teaching it anymore. or at all.

Need decent pictures of Gwen Stefani's PINK hair for possible Tonks icons.

And for possible ideas concerning my own pink hair. Maybe something like this: http://shagpro.com/mrbrown/celeb/go1.jpg

of course, with brown in the blonde spots and pink in the dark blue spots.

::ponders::

EDIT: I forgot the embarassing episode. Suffice it to say, I now need to lose weight. I was filling out the goddam order form for my cap and gown, which the forgot to SEND to me with everything else, and Michael Woo was right behind me... looking at me fill the paper in... so i lied about my weight. gaah! to tell you the truth, I actually have no idea how much i weigh. I'm just guessing that what I wrote down is a lot less than the truth. meh. stupid Michael.

oh, silly Christina...

krimsonintestine: ADRIAN BRODY IS LIKE TOTALLY HAWT!
krimsonintestine: I WANT HIS CROTCH NOW!
krimsonintestine: mitzi...you GOTS to hook us up!

suuuuuuuuree......

XD

she's hiding out with all my fears

meh.

both my computers had the same virus.

desktop computer resisted it magnificently, and I was able to fix it last night.

my own beloved laptop succumbed to it. I now have no taskbar, no desktop icons, and no control panel. its just Irvine sitting there, in the dark, pondering his role as a murderer before he's forced to shoot at Edea. gaah!

My laptop... dead! :( so dead. I have no idea what to do. i suppose I should just mourn my dear friend. ::sniff:: poor Selphie.

Mom's on another one of her "we HAVE to lose weight" periods, but, just like in all the others, she doesn't actually do anything. She keeps saying we're going to work-out at this new gym place, but she hasn't called them for appointments or anything. Hmm... guess what I'm going to be doing later? yes. calling them up for her. blergh.

Glae!! come on! I woke up at 9 to rp and you're nowhere to be found! uncool! everyone else was responsible! meh.

ooh, Sunday, I finally saw Pirates of the Caribbean. my GOD!! that has to be the best movie ever!! eeep!! It was soooo good! I'd heard about it being great, but I think it was utterly fantastic. :D johnny depp is now my new hero. or rather, captain jack sparrow. ^_^
note to self: get new eyeliner.

on the way to the theatre, something extraordinary happened.

we were sitting in the car, listening to KMOZART, and halfway to Alhambra (we were coming back from Pasadena) their Opera Notes comes on, featuring (weee!!) Turandot. :D So obviously, I'm extremely happy and tell my dad to turn up the volume. So not only do the annoying people on the radio get in the way of the music (puccini this, puccini that!) but my brother starts talking about how they studied Turandot in class, blah blah. so I start humming along with the music, and my brother tells me to shut up because I'd never heard it before, so I wouldn't know shit about the opera. Then, (and this is the amazing part) my mom turns around in her seat and tells my brother to shut up, to stop calling me stupid, and that he had no right to tell me to shut up because i knew a hell of a lot more about music than he did. :D go mom. (I would have added the fact that I know a lot more about anything and everything in general, but i didn't want to push my luck considering it was miracle enough that my mom was defending me.

Glae!!! dammit.

too early.

shit

Today was such a good day because most everyone at diagonally says I'm a kick-ass Tonks. Everone go look and tell me what you think! shifty_tonks You won't be able to comment on it, but you can comment here.

Then poor Jorge tells me he misses me...

but i soooo don't want to deal with a relationship this comming year. 5 ap classes will not be easy, i know. And I want to dedicate myself completely to my band.

::sniff:: I miss my band geeks so much. Pat with his Pattiness, and Diana and Elaine. And Christina and Mr. Gable! I wanna cry. ohh, but we have practice on monday. wee!!

I'm going to put pink streaks in my hair soon. :) then maybe i'll take a picture of like, a pink streak next to brown hair and use that as Tonks' new icon. oooh, possibilities!

Ozma rocks

and i discovered a Coldplay song that gave me shivers, honest shivers. "Hunting High and Low" i love that song, and in the 2 days i've had it, its become the most often-played Coldplay song on my computer, an estimated 30 times. :)

Jackie came over yesterday with her mum and dad to see my brother. They didn't stay long because they came at night, but Jackie and I had a spiffy time catching up on things. Now I know why Julio hasn't written back. meh. She's happy that I'm reading American Gods. Ok, that i was because I have other stuff to read for school. I finished Oedipus a day ago, and I started on Antigone this morning because I woke up at 7 again and couldn't get back to sleep. I got pretty far in it because she's about to be buried alive, although I don't know why Teriesias is showing up all of a sudden, but he's my favorite character, so i don't mind.

sleepy.

I have no idea why I keep waking up at such ungodly hours.

At least I get to watch The Price is Right and I Love Lucy, which I wouldn't be able to do if I slept until noon.

Ozma = god now. :D

Aug. 4th, 2003

how cute!!

my tonks has a crush on remus. ^_^

heehee!

all bad cats go to kitty hell

does Ozma rock or what?!

yess!

very happy with how livejournal offers a myriad of entertainment.

as if rating communities wasn't enough, it's opened the door for RPGs, and its made it possible for each character to have its own journal. why am I going on about this? Because I'm Tonks over at diagonally a spiffy HP rp. ok, cross out the spiffy. It's awesome. ^_^

god I'm such a geek

thank you!

I started reading Oedipus today, I guess you could say I'm halfway through it. I'll finish it tomorrow, bs some notes, and then go on to Antigone. (anTIgonee, mabel, not anti-gone. hehee)

I feel like analyzing spending time on the borderline because there are lots of neat things on this cd. its awesome.

long live Ozma!
