Ugh. Work has been insanely busy. Monday, I only got a 15 minute lunch, and yesterday and today I didn't get a lunch break at all. Yesterday I was in meetings for 4 hours. Today and Friday I'm interviewing candidates for an open position on my team. Plus I have about 5 ongoing projects to work on every day in addition to the day-to-day stuff that comes up.

And, on top of all of that, I'll probably have to work over the three-day weekend to finish up a major project that (through no fault of my own) is 6 months overdue.

And I have a bad head cold, but I just can't afford to take time off right now.


Good thing my hair's so thick. No one will notice when I start pulling it out.






On the plus side, it's a rainy day. :)

Like a good little fan, I bought Supernatural season 3 on DVD the day it came out and have been enjoying re-watching the episodes. Last night, I finished the season (and all the special features), and I wanted to share some of my thoughts about the season as a whole, some of the characters/actors, and about some individual episodes.

Dear upstairs neighbors,
This letter has been a long time coming. I have lived in this apartment for almost 18 months. All last school year, I hardly heard a peep from the people who lived upstairs. Since last fall, when you moved in, I have heard loud noises almost every single day through my ceiling. Do you have a pet elephant? Or are you just very clumsy?

Tonight, I am hearing noises AGAIN. It is 11:30 pm on a weeknight. Also, it's the middle of finals week. Please stop laughing and yelling and cheering. It's not spring break for everyone yet.

Nothing spoilery.

I'm watching E's Countdown to the Red Carpet thing. I thought that it was going to be the Red Carpet interviews and stuff, but this is the pre-pre-show. And I am sickened by the materialism and obnoxiousness of these people. Sapphire encrusted pens? Metallic iPod covers? Get over yourselves.

It's 3:36 am. And I am still awake. Why you ask? Because technology hates me. My laptop got infected with a nasty virus that give you a pop up ad literally every four-five seconds. It's awful. My brother was supposed to help me out with it, but he left for Davis for the weekend to see his girlfriend and everything. He talked me through some stuff on the phone, but then left me to my own devices. I found several forums online with tech support people and have been following their advice to other people with the same problems I have. So, I'm running a virus scan right now (which has turned up 29 viruses... yikes), then I'm going to run a program designed to get rid of the "Vundo" which is controlling the pop up ads. I really just want to turn off my computer and go to bed, but since I've been working on this since 10:00 tonight, I really just want it done and taken care off. Plus, I'm not going to leave my laptop on overnight with 29 viruses on it! I already disabled the internet so that the pop ups would stop for the time being.

In other news... I think I have a canker sore in my throat. My mom sometimes gets canker sores as allergic reactions to certain foods, one of which is aspartame (artificial sweetener). Well, the lemonade I got from Wendi's yesterday on the drive home was "no sugar added" and I didn't realize it until I was partway through the drink and I realized suddenly what the g-nasty aftertaste was. And since I was drinking through a straw, it would have hit the back of my throat first. Now it's all red and gross back there and it hurts like crazy to talk, swallow, and breath too deeply. But I don't think I'm sick because (1) I feel fine otherwise, (2) I take lots of vitamin C every day, and (3) it hit me all of a sudden in the middle of the night last night, not gradually. Though I have started coughing in the last half hour or so... Anyway, whatever it is, it hurts. Boo.

Ooh, hey! I know what I'll do to keep myself amused (cuz this blog has to end sometime). I'll read the Beauty and the Beast script that I got at work today!! I'm a camp counselor at my former high school's summer theatre program and I love, love, love it. This is my third year doing it, and it is LOADS of fun. The kid they have playing LeFou (Gaston's sidekick) is absolutely adorable. He's probably 8 or 9, but he's a really good singer and he's s'darn cute in the "Gaston" song. I can't wait for this show.

But I am home sweet home, so I guess things aren't all bad. I had tons of fun hanging out with my family last night. The four of us sat around talking and laughing and playing cards. It was great fun. I love my family. *cough*even when my brother bails on me and leaves me to do the computer fixing stuff on my own*cough*

What just happened? Where did the wave of emo come from?
