Hearth Blessing
contentThe Hearth is truely blessed! Blessed with abundance, friends and the presence of the Gods and Land Wights. I had a wonderful start to the Hearth Blessing this weekend... Fredrique came and stayed most of the day and shared her wisdom ~ she has such an old soul! She made me the most precious green crystal earrings! And she brought a beautiful pot with a perfectly heathy Catnip plant which will become a part of Freya's garden...We shared stories and looked at rocks and stones ~ she even gave me a luminous moonstone which I have placed infront of the Gaia statue in my display.
The greatest gift she brought was her time and effort in coming! In opening my doors all weekend, I have had no expectations of who would actually come - gas prices are high and most folks have much to do. In my philosphy, those who should be here, will be here...
Hauk came and brough the most fantastic LAMBIC!! I have now discovered a favorite drink!! The Land-Wights were hailed and offering made to them during Blot. You could feel the land take up the offering! Hauk did the Gods proud! His Blot was magical... There was power and knowledge in his working and all was said. Frigga was thanked ~ Odin Hailed, Heimdall recognised and Thor was there...
So much of where I need to go and what I need to be doing in the coming times is connected to the gift of this home! To have my friends be a part of this (whether in thought or presence) is what I hope this hearth to be all about... To be open in Hospitality to all who come in Firth. To share all I have been given, to live the ideals my faith stands for!
Interestingly, this all fell at the time of the Equinox ~ The time is coming for Winternights when the folk gather to give harvest thanks and remember the ancestors. The Wild Hunt is prepared and Odhinn will ride the winds again! The Winternights end the harvest and begin the hunt, the veil (as many Pagans celebrate at Samhain) is thin ~ the answers and messages are given to the Seers for the coming year.
As Odhinn has decided that the time has come for me to take up this mantle, the timing is perfect ~ even though I did not see the patterns when He said to wait until Fall back in February at PantheaCon. I still do not see traditional (?) Seidh as my path. I have no fear of it and it possibly may be because I have no teacher that it does not seem to be my direction. I wait in peace for Him to show me the way... The crystals await and I have made a dedicated study of living the Runes as a part of my daily practice now. May they always speak strong and my ears and heart be opened to hear...
