Odin loves me

And the beat goes on....

Ahh, the joys of moving! Things are coming along, I can finally find my utinsils and most of my books are out where I can find them. I must also boast a bit! I have organized all my loose pamplets and magazines by subject in special magazine holders! (at least until I open another box and find more I need to put away!)

There are so many good things about moving! (really!!) Let me remind myself (I could use it right now)

1 ~ you get to throw away all the stuff you never really needed

2 ~ you can have a lucrative yard sale

3 ~ you discover alot of things you thought you lost! (at least I did!)

4 ~ you lose alot of things you found cause you can't remember where you packed them!
(I THINK that is a good thing!)
5 ~ It is a way of starting fresh... New routines, new places to put things, and a whole new garden to discover...

6 ~ *humm, I know there must be more cause I can think of at least 20 crummy things about moving!!!

If anyone can think of more positive ways of looking at all these boxes and my aching body ~ PLEASE tell me!!

Odin loves me

Moving along...

Well, we made our first trip to the new house tonight... Both the hubby and I carried a full load.

The first thing I did was set up Frigga's Altar on the shelves near the Dining Room ~ In the Kitchen...and burned some incense.

Then I set up the Garden Window in the Dining Room ~ it is huge ~ even larger than the one above the Kitchen Sink!

I laid down a rabbit fur and set my Pena Wolf angel with the green glass eyes that glow, surrounded it with painted wolves, and set a one-eyed Norse Warrior holding a spear in the middle... LOL ~ It is not His altar, but He watches over the home from here!

I pulled my first weeds and took stock of the back yard. There is alot of pruning and trimming needed, and the soil needs treatment in the planters> Darling Hubby and I agreed that the planting areas surrounding the yard need to be redesigned, adding some shape and curves to the borders. The myriad of vines that surround the patio are visited by humming birds and I can imagine butterflys too!, But they desparately need to be cut waaay back and trained properly as they grow. The same with the grapevines...

I placed a net bag of sage in front of the swamp cooler that sits in the window to sweeten the air.

Lynsey (my 10 yr old granddaughter) had come with me, and she shared a Pollo Loco dinner on plastic ware! Our first meal in our new home and we already had a guest! :)

I got to meet our neighbor, a very happy (and funny!) Philipino woman named Anabelle. She shared information all about the activities and things to do in the area ~ she even offered to take Penny puppy and I out to Griffith Park to walk with her beagle Beau! I think she and I can be good friends! I am so excited at the prospect of community involvement!

So, despite the lack of furniture, it is already claimed as home! I am writing a house blessing and protection rite that Hubby has agreed to assist with! We will do this the first evening of our first offical day of living there!
