I think I need to go right now down to the Bahamas for Kadooment/Emancipation Day and not come back until I'm rested... a nice thought, but it's not happening. I seem to still be running a little fever from the abscess in my jaw... need to either up my dose of antibiotics, or if the dentist is already on her vacation, maybe I can try some supplements and stuff to help the antibiotics. I've been feeling weird and sleepy since last week.

The weekend was a bit overly active with holiday stuff, although we sat out of the Lughnasadh Games due to an attack of feeling old, brought to us courtesy of Ja's hip disorder and the beer we drank the night before. (If you drink sufficient amounts of beer and stay up late enough, you will feel older the next morning. It's just that at some ages that's easier than others.) I also got a tongue drum-- now if I can learn to play it, I'll be having lots of fun. Ja talked me into it-- it's lovely, small but with a beautifully sonorous voice. I practically have to enter an alternate level of consciousness to have rhythm, though; it's tough on me sometimes. Maybe a drum that's not in dire need of re-stretching, as my other one is, will help.
